This is my wonderful FOUR VOLUME SET, comprised of 200 of my "most appreciated" rhymes [50 per book] which I penned over the past 40+ years. Just trying to help folks communicate with their inner selves, or make them chuckle...a fun read, always rhyming, and easy to "get." The poetry samples on my "poems" page, together with those on my website, [that web-page address is shown below], serve rather well as examples of my refreshing and comprehensive approach to clarifying many aspects of our everyday lives. Please take a moment to learn why I'm often referred to as "the Norman Rockwell of poets."
See 14 examples, and ORDERING INFORMATION, for any single volume at $12.95 plus appropriate postage, OR, the entire set of 4 for $45 plus postage: www.writerofbooks.com

These poems span a magnitude not only in time and space, but in circumstance as well. Some of them are written in an elegiac 19th century style, others in the plain speech of Iowa, and yet others in the rough-and-tumble vernacular of the everyday life of our times.
Many of the longer poems are like stories, and some of the shorter ones resemble lyrics written for musical scoring. There are touching little love poems, and longer ones that look as if they could easily grow into novels.
Stellinga writes in rhyme, unusual in modern poetry. Although some would find it is hard work to keep to a measured meter and rhyme scheme, in spite of this, the poet's language seems to flow without effort. All in all, there is a universe here, in the range of human experience and emotion in Stellinga’s works.

"A POET NORMALLY PLACES HIS OR HER INNER THOUGHTS ON PAPER FOR ALL THE WORLD TO SEE WHAT THEY ARE MADE OF. SOME POEMS APPEAL TO THE MASSES, SOME TO A SELECTED FEW, AND SOME TO THE POET ONLY. MARK STELLINGA HAS A WAY OF BRINGING OUT THE BEST OF OUR SOCIETY AND MAKES US ALL IDENTIFY WITH THE GOODNESS OF HIS CHARACTERS. MANY TIMES I HAVE SAID, 'I KNOW THAT PERSON'. HE WRITES ABOUT THE AMERICA THAT WE ALL LOVE AND IDENTIFY WITH REGARDLESS OF WHERE WE LIVE OR WHAT WE DO FOR A LIVING. THAT'S THE AMERICA OF PEOPLE LIVING TOGETHER HARMONIOUSLY AND THE LAND WHERE DREAMS TRULY DO COME TRUE. THIS POET WILL BE RECORDED IN THE HISTORY OF AMERICA'S LITERATURE AS ONE OF HER FINEST AND HIS IMAGERY WILL BE A RECORD OF HOW WE LIVED DURING HIS LIFETIME. MARK, YOU'RE AN AMERICAN TREASURE."
