He's handsome, charismatic and a radiant celestial being, but he's rapidly becoming a dark soul. A stirring account of how and why the first and most radiant archangel fell from grace and became the Devil.

This is a story of angels and demons, love and hate, goodness and evil. An angelic tale of long, long ago that predates Creation and even the beginning of time. Religion has taught us that the archangels and angels are extremely wise and have faultless purity. However, this is not the author´s controversial portrayal of them. These heavenly beings possess a child-like quality, they make mistakes and use poor judgment. Several also display a whole range of emotions and motivations, from being supremely good to unrighteously evil. Could it be their initial frailty was the opening gambit for the duality of the human race? This book is the first of The Angelic Chronicles trilogy. It is a blending of fantasy with esoteric teachings and has been placed in the top 100 of Amazon's Category Sales Ranks for books about the Occult.

Excerpt

They continued exploring the building until they reached the top floor. In one of the rooms there was a door which, when opened, gave access to the steps that led to the domed roof. The Shekinah stepped up and out onto the agate walkway and marveled at the curved magnificence of the dome. It twinkled in the gloom of Chaos as though it possessed an inner light of its own. She moved close to the parapet and was overcome by a sense of being a tiny pulse of life in the vast emptiness of the Abyss. Malkura had no idea in which direction lay the Source, but she experienced a sudden need for its comforting light-filled beams. All around her was a dense darkness that whispered of unknown dread. She shivered as an inexplicable fear swept through her soul.

"Is something troubling you, my love?" Samael had observed her trembling body.

"I do not know the cause, but I am experiencing the fear we have had when we wandered too far away from the Source. There is something most sinister about this part of the Abyss."

"It is interesting that you feel so inclined. I have always found this area of Chaos to be intriguing." He stood beside her at the parapet and in a sweeping motion of his hand, he indicated to the dark void beyond them and asked, "Does the mystery of Chaos not beckon to you? Surely its vastness excites you? Do you not wonder whether it has an ending and what lies beyond it?"

"No, dear brother, those thoughts have never come to me. I do not have your insatiable curiosity. You were always the bravest of we eight archangels, but perchance you should be more careful, as is Michael." The Shekinah began to walk toward the steps that led back down to the access door of the room.

"Then perhaps you should ask our brother to be your champion?" There was a hint of sarcasm in this thought.

Malkura turned back to Samael and pleaded, "I pray you, do not spoil this occasion. I did not mean to offend you, but I think your intense curiosity could lead you into the unknown and possible danger."

Her sibling moved in front of her, blocking her way. He placed his hands on her shoulders and, bringing his face close to hers, offered:

"I give you my apologies, sweet sister. I am a fool to upset you when I am trying to demonstrate the depth of my love for you. My only excuse is that I become petulant when you give praise to another. I would have you think admiring thoughts of only me." Samael pulled himself back up to his full height, stepped aside and let her pass. With his usual lightning speed, he quickly changed the direction of their thoughts. "Let us go back inside. I have one more room I wish to show to you." He took Malkura into the building and guided her to the room which contained the huge bed.

The Shekinah was stunned by its size and its grandeur. It was fashioned from the bluest of etheric minerals and there were splashes of gold throughout its entirety. It was curved slightly upwards at one end, giving a bolster effect. The legs and sides of this bed were ornately detailed with swirls and rosettes. Ruby red gems were embedded in the centers of some of the latter designs. Malkura also noticed there was something the color of herself nestled in the middle of the bed.

"Let me demonstrate how we use this unit during the resting phase!" Samael leapt onto the bed, gently pushed the rulpiel object to the far side and then lay down. His head was positioned on the curved end and he lay on his side, facing his sister. "We stay like this and allow sleep to engulf us." His eyes remained open because there was no need to block out visual stimulation. However, he added, "I have taken a notion to close my eyes during the resting phase, it feels more appropriate." His eyelids fluttered and then became closed, hiding those soul-telling purple orbs.

No further thoughts passed between them as Samael portrayed a sleeping archangel. He became so still that Malkura began to wonder whether he had actually entered the resting phase. She quietly sat down on the edge of the bed and stretched out a hand to touch her brother. Even before her hand reached him, he grabbed it with one of his own.

"Come, sister, lay down with me. I created this unit for both of us to partake of the resting phase." He pulled her gently toward him and she felt powerless to resist. She settled herself next to him, her face was a very short distance away from his. Samael's eyes suddenly opened and although she knew he was observing her with his inner vision, she could not shake the thought that he was watching her with his etheric eyes. He touched her hair and, as if this action reminded him of something, he reached behind him and grasped the rulpiel object.

"I offer you this token of my unending love." He placed the gift into her hands and told her, "It lies hidden inside the soft material which I also created."

Malkura eagerly unwrapped the gem and its green beauty silenced any thought-words that she might have made. She turned it over and over, fascinated by its depth of glorious color. Finally, she managed to convey some of her joy. "Its beauty is beyond anything I have ever known. You have blessed me with a gift that I will keep close to me forever. You are truly my beloved brother!"

"Even as you are my beloved sister! Malkura, I have named this gem an emerald and it signifies my desire to be with you always. I have created this home for both you and me, and I ask you to stay with me here from this instant onwards."

Here at last was the declaration she had been expecting, but dreading. This was what the Source had warned her would happen. How could she refuse him? She wanted nothing more than to stay with him, yet she knew she must not.

Even before she could compose an answer, Samael exclaimed, "Do not refuse me! I can perceive your thoughts and you are readying yourself to deny me the gift of your companionship. What has our parent to do with this? You are thinking of some nonsense it has told you."

There was something almost frightening about his ability to know her unshared thoughts so readily. Malkura sat back up and moved to the edge of the bed. She clutched the emerald tightly in her hand and answered, "I have to refuse you, we cannot be together. The Source told me you would request this of me and it asked me not to give my agreement."
