Poetry Is Alive

Corner Stores in the Middle of the Block, is a hilarious and thought-provoking collection of poems that addresses his personal encounters with females and his appreciation for the Venus-natives. In "The Oblique Hints," Blue succumbs to the treasures of his lover. "The Oblique Hints" are her seductive curvature that seduce him and keeps him wanting more. Although his inspiration stems from his experiences in the Big Apple-like in the three-part poem, "The Urban Look"-people from anywhere and everywhere can relate, whether he is speaking to you about lusting over a woman on a cool summer day or about the emptiness of Hope...

-A Poem inspired by the attractive young lady
on the Manhattan bound Q-Train-
She sat across from me with a vintage leather jacket on
She had hair was in cornrows with her jeans rolled up like a cowgirl.
Homegirl had eyes like a six shooter and I wanna tell her how fine she is

But Im afraid that she might shoot me.

- Going to Philly-

Everybody wants to feel important but they're not willing to endure the rigors of the mission

We can't sit home watching television and think welfare is going to rectify our condition

Fronting like celebrities and making babies on top of babies and can't feed the ones we already have

We can make room for the rats and the roaches and our pit bulls make a nice bed for our pet fleas

At the end of the week we buy beer and dog food with our food stamps

While the children get a balanced breakfast of potato chips and Kool-Aid

Everybody is trying to get rich quick, playing Quick Pick...

But the next man is always the winner

That game makes money off of poor people's misery and misery loves company

That's why people that live alone talk a lot!

I didn't get here in an inner tube just to become shark bait over the Atlantic

I was born here!!!!

In the core of the apple, at the pit of the borough

I hung out with the rejects and the down trodden but this city was rotten before I was begotten

So I ask you, am I the eye sore

Just because I saw rats bigger than cats

And a cool cat was the terminology to describe a friend,

    back in 76

But now he's my dog

   my girl is my bitch

and my friends are my niggers

I live underneath the under, at the bottom of the low

I was eavesdropping on army ants as I tried to find a source of unity

I bought a bus ticket, can't take it to the hereafter

So I just settled in Philly

And when I got there the same shit was going on,

So I came back

And the minute I stepped off the bus all I could hear was

Excuse me, Brother

Pardon me, Black

Do you have a quarter?

Do you have a nickel?

Do you have a dime?

Do you have a cigarette?

Do you have a light?

Do you have the time?

Pray to Jesus

Pray to Jehovah

Pray to Jah

Pray to Allah

Pray to Guiliani because he thinks he's God !

99.9 percent of the people in this world are convincing back stabbers!

Don't eat sugar

Don't eat salt

Don't eat pork

Don't eat meat

Save the dolphins

Save the whales

Save the children

Save the rain forest

Time out!

If life is a game, whose playing?

If we're a race, whose winning?

Being that we're at the door step of technology, Scientists are trying to mock the womb of a woman and create children without the act of sex

Viagra will be for some rich jerk that just wants to get his dick up

Then jack off in a jar and freeze his bastards to insure he has an heir to his crown

Everyone listen up...

Every mind is a world and only you can make you happy

Just don't bother me with it!!!

Summer time...
These days were made for women
It's when they dress the best
It's when they wear less...
It's when that summer breeze be blowing through that linen dress and it be giving me chills
Making me sneeze
and she was blessing me...
