You are about to begin a journey through the pages of a unique book, as once again the members of the on-line poetry group known as poetrypages.com have come together and combined their talents to create this very special volume of poetry. In this volume, these talented poets are celebrating the many wonderful variations of a short type of poetry known as Haiku, as well as other short-verse forms of poetry. Haiku and many of its variations are unique little gems which reflect the true spirit of life, human nature and the basic elements of the earth. They are structured with specific word and syllable patterns, written in the "its happening right here, right now" scenario. These short little verses take everyday ordinary occurrences and make them extraordinary. You will experience the essence of the extraordinary as you travel through the pages of this volume. If you enjoy reading and contemplating poetry, then this book will be one of your favorites! Tucked away in their own little corner of cyberspace since its founding in 1999, the members of poetrypages.com have been coming together, free of charge, from all over the world, to share their thoughts, their talents, and their lives with one an-other. The sites discussion boards and its many forums are available to all who wish to contribute or participate, as well as to those who just wish to come and browse. All the boards and forums are under the expert direction of Heinz Scheuenstuhl, our administrator, and Lorraine Voss, our chief moderator. This book, the 4th in an ever-growing series of poetry books, was conceived and brought to life by a very special lady, Kimberly Eddleman, who is the owner and founder of Poetry Pages. Her insight and leader-ship skills have been invaluable to the site, as well as to the members. It is rare indeed to find such a tightly-knit group of kindred souls, whose numbers are growing by leaps and bounds daily, who are as connected and bonded by their love of poetry. This book has truly been a 'labor of love' for all of us, and it is our heart-felt hope that you, the reader, will enjoy experiencing the true essence of its spirit as much as we enjoyed creating it!
