What follows is just one of my stories:
Grandpa Makes Unexpected
Visit To Wake
Often, couples make a pact that they’ll be together forever, even after death. Some couples even decide that whomever crosses over first, will return to let the other know they’re all right. Such was the case with Juanita and Grant Johnson.
Grant had become seriously ill from years of drinking and now his liver was suffering for it. Lying in hospital expecting the worst, he told Juanita that if he were still alive in some form after his death, he would let her know. But no one expected him to show up the way he did and at his very own wake!
After his funeral, family members gathered at Juanita’s apartment in L’anse, Michigan to share memories and console one another. In attendance that day was Laurie Coby, who had just lost her grandpa. Laurie explained that grandma’s apartment was above a bank. The living room adjoined the kitchen, like one big room. Sitting on the kitchen table was a platter with a big, hollowed out wooden pineapple about seven inches tall right in the middle of it. The pineapple held little wooden knives and around it, there were small wooden bowls filled with cheese and crackers.
Everyone was gathered in the living room, when Laurie’s Aunt Sharon heard a scrapping sound. When she turned to look toward the kitchen, she noticed right away that the pineapple was no longer in the middle of the platter. It was on the table and was moving across it all by itself!
“My aunt screamed and pointed to the table, and everyone else looked and saw it too,” said Laurie. The pineapple slid to the end of the table and then slowly lifted up in the air! When it got about a foot above the table, it started to move across the room toward where everyone was sitting on the couches!
That pineapple moved right over to where Juanita sat and landed right in her lap!
“Everyone was freaking out – everyone but my grandma that is, because she knew that it was only my grandpa letting her know that he was okay and still alive somewhere.”
"If you haven't had a paranormal experience in your life yet, look out! At some point, you probably will!"

A paranormal compilation of others' personal experiences as told to Martha Jette, are held within the pages of "Glimpses 2." She covers aspects from Angels to Visitors From the Other Side, with many other experiences spanning the wide range.
As each individual story is related, intimate details of the happenings unfold, such as the one shared by Sharon Bryant, Telepathy Brings Message About Grandpa. Having little money, her and her husband had no phone, with her grandfather failing, and her grandmother wanting to get in touch with her. The grandmother decided instead to concentrate on the message. Not the typical way to deliver a message but it seemingly worked out for them. Another example, Dad Returns To Prevent Daughter’s Suicide, Jeanie’s story of learning about the father she never knew because he died when she was an infant, and his saving touch on her spirit through dream that changed her world.
The most noted and famous one mentioned would be The Case of the Haunted Hearse named Elvira, who is followed by Morticia, the real attraction for the Destiny Tours. With many unexplained paranormal activities taking place within and around these hearses. Cold spots, people feeling ill when standing near or touching a part of the vehicle, each retold experience draws more and more people.
No one tale is the same as another, but a number of them have things in common, making them hard to discredit unless one is a real cynic. High in detail showing the person who is sharing the story believes without question the events as they describe them. Each story told only enforces the belief or brings to light an awareness of something more out there. Martha Jette has supplied us with proof to accept or to ponder on and draw on our own judgment as to the validity to each individual one.
The random order and the presentation allows each to pick and choose what order they wish to read them without having to read one they may totally be against reading. The wide variety of subjects makes "Glimpses 2" not such a heavy or demanding read but aims only to enlighten and arouse curiosity in its reader.

Glimpses 2: It could happen to you, is a collection of 90 paranormal stories from around the world. Brought to you by Martha Jette, a retired newspaper and magazine editor from Canada, this second book is a supernatural treat you won’t want to miss! Each section is split into chapters A – Q and contains a broad spectrum of subjects from ‘Visits from the other side’, ‘Premonitions’, ‘Dreams’, ‘Angels’, ‘Haunted Homes’ to UFO’s. You name it, this book has it.
Reading some stories actually made the hairs on my neck stand up and quite honestly made me feel like a child scared of the dark again! For instance, imagine never having seen a ghost before, and then one frequents your bedroom late at night and just stands at the bottom of your bed staring at you. To make matter’s worse, you are only a child. How would you deal with such a frightening ‘gift’ so young?
Have you ever been touched, but when you turn round there is no one there? Are your developed photographs showing additional people or orbs, which were not present when you took the picture? Although unsettling, this is fascinating material I adore reading. What gives this book the edge is knowing these are non-fictional accounts and photographs of unexpected visitors from another dimension. Strange, but true occurrences are happening to real people, just like you and me. It is for this reason, I feel I should also point out some of the black and white photos are not printed as well as I would like to have seen them. Having said that, in the front of the book it states quite clearly these photos are genuine candid photographs taken by amateurs. It should also come as no surprise to hear that snapshots showing spirits and paranormal entities (who give no warnings when they are going to show up) are not taken by people with the resources to ‘wait’ or ‘set up’ the perfect ghostly shot. Yet somehow, they have managed to capture the essence of the supernatural without even knowing it! Have you looked at your photos lately? I mean, really looked.
Martha Jette has found some interesting photos and stories to share with us. I particularly like reading about the accounts of people deemed clinically dead who are returned to the land of living because it is not their time to leave us. Did you know that some survivors of near death experiences develop newfound psychic abilities? All in all, this makes a great coffee-table book, as it is an ideal conversation starter! The actual tales were enjoyably scary and really spooked me out! More than once I found myself wondering what that ‘noise’ was, and wishing I hadn’t decided to read this alone, late at night!
There are so many memorable stories to quote, but my all-time favourite must be the haunting of nine-year old Pamela who carries her doll around with her and came back to find her lost locket and clear her father’s name. There is also a good photo of both the little girl and her doll standing in front of the window.
If you are interested in hearing a cross section of real life spooky tales then this is the book for you. But it’s not all fun and games. Among the heart-warming tales of returned loved ones, are the more sinister, creepy stories. Some ghostly apparitions are visitors from the evil side summoned via people messing about with Ouija boards, when they should know better. Something for everyone. Take a tip from me, don’t read these stories alone, late at night or if you are of a nervous disposition, unless like me, you enjoy scaring yourself witless!
Above all, please remember, many of these situations are occurring to ordinary people who are not professional psychics. At the risk of sounding like somebody’s Mum, take care and don’t mess about with Ouija boards, because as Ms Jette’s book title suggests, it could happen to you.
