 Janie Fuller and her best friend Livvy Whitton,are normal pre-teen girls looking forward to summer summer vacation after a long school year.As the final days of the school year wind down,their heads are full of plans for summer and the dreams that only adolescent girls know.When Livvy says goodbye to Janie on her way to the park one afternoon after school,Janie has no idea it may be the last memory of her "best friend forever"

Livvy said.Janie watched the petite,darkhaired figure hurrying back down the sidewalk,her purse swinging from her shoulder.At the corner Livvy turned,waved,and grinned broadly.Janie waved back as her best friend disappeared on the other side of the Beechum house.
