Waking God is a controversial novel that explores humanity's past and future in a context of religious myth. It is based upon a sleeping Adam who is dreaming himself into existence; the Tarot Code; a god seed imbedded in DNA; angels as the myth builders; and, a fast paced chase through Europe and Mexico.
Mantrella thought a moment, sighing, "Not in your dreams, but in your subconscious," he said. "Let me enlighten such a learned man as you." As he spoke, he wore that signature grin, as if what he said was personally satisfying. "It is not about saving humanity, and it never has been," he began frankly.
The brook murmured softly in his ears, but the dream remained disjointed and chaotic. He could see, deep within his mind, the angel struggling to be free, wanting to be released. The two needed to be saved so that the dream could end and he, too, could be free. He would have to help them, somehow; speak out across the ages and into their world. Restless in slumber, the naked man's body quivered, and he rolled over onto the smooth wet stones of the shore. Though his lips trembled, the ghostly thoughts of his mind took no spoken form. Instead, through the milk of his dreams he whispered, "Fear not, for I am with you always...even until the end of time...."
