Critical social commentary in poetry. from three perspectives: Society, Spirituality, Humanity.

Excerpt from the first poem "Symbol of Freedom"

Wingspread unequaled, and nature's laser. All-seeing ... No creature closer to God. Riding the whirlwind, soaring through sol's fire, waterfalling down the rain. Aloft o'er the bondaged by sin and pain, he surveys the earthly unchallenged. No human fetter, nor war to win, no enemy unseen...  ever flying free-- powerful symbol of the American dream.

Excerpt

"Living under the bell of freedom ... There are those who scream against the red dawn of new age possibiity, clinging to a kindergarten scope of Christianity, enslaved by ceremony, and inherited creed ...and there are others who writhe and bleed with envy of their daring brothers--those for whom an impassioned striving for more has freed."

Professional Reviews

Critical Social Commentary
"The Freedom Nation is powerful poetry. Not since Phillip Wiley's 'Generation of Vipers' has an author so aptly presented the American picture, so boldly reminded us of our failures."

Still Hope
In this nation of religious freedom, the author says, there are still myriads of bungled dreams, unsung champions, and fighters for a real democracy ... In one strong poem she calls America "an angry country wrapped in bright blankets of eqotism and righteousness..."
Dedicated to those who worry about "the depreciation of their personal freedom," yet pointing out the myriad blessings we enjoy "...streaking the night with silvery signals of hope..." This is powerful poetry.

Making Us Think
Interesting controversial thoughts, covering almost every contemporary problem currently debated in the media, and in personal conversations about our failures to live up to the "land of the free-- many poems probing the mystery of why we also fail to offer hope.
Interesting thoughts beautifully expressed. Great poetry!
