Chapter One: Mary May Comes Home
It was raining when Hunter awoke the next morning next to Mary May in her old bedroom at Seaton House. It was quite chilly in the room, as he rose from the bed and struggled to pull on his warm robe, his beautiful bride still soundly sleeping. The problem he had with simple tasks was due to his now deformed hands, gnarled and rendered useless by Imar Pantu's funeral pyre. For a brief moment, while looking at his hands, he was transported back to that horrible moment when he fruitlessly tried to save Mumtaz from that horrible death subjected upon her by her cruel father-in-law. It always made his skin crawl.
