The night was a dark as a deep dungeon. There were no stars in the sky to guide brave sailors across stormy seas and sister moon could not admire her pale reflection on the deep waters. Waves rose and fell like whispery wet dolphins. The wind howled like a pack of hungry wolves on the prairie.
But in the far distance he could see lights; lots of lights twinkling like stars on a clear night.
'Maybe it's land,' thought Giorgio. 'I can swim but how far'?
