Metaphorically Speaking Mostly is a book full of metaphoric poetry. Because poetry is an expression of our inner self, many will take away something different in the meaning for many of the poems.
Metaphorically Speaking is available through online bookstores.

LISTEN TO THE RHYTHM
Though I stand amongst the still waters and listen,
My mind goes deep into thought and I miss the stillness.
As my body beats with different rhythms within me,
My soul becomes lost in essence of my pain.
Slowly disappearing like the sands with the tide,
My emotional and physical take places of their own.
A place where the emptiness runs ravage within,
I struggle to conquer a battle that I have not yet fought.
Is this to be the place where existence shall reside?
In a corner of darkness cold, empty and afraid.
Yet out of the darkness a new rhythm beats,
Although still in thought hearing only the stillness.
Water from the tide pulls me gently with the sand,
To a more complacent place I may now begin to understand.
The beat of the rhythm becomes more completely in sync,
For the battle now dwindles to a memory in time.
At some point in our lives, we may all begin to question what our purpose is while here on earth. It is believed that everything has a purpose, everyone exists for a reason, and that things happen for a reason. When we choose a direction we think we want our lives to go, things tend to go astray. When we go with the flow, allowing the direction of life to take us, the most amazing things begin to happen; thus if it is meant to happen, it will. The flow of poetry is quite like that.
