Excerpt

The Storm

Mark well this spell that I will tell
Of rainbows lost from view.
Where billowed clouds spoke out loud
And only thunder knew.

Where lightning flashed and I was dashed
Upon my thoughts anew.
The night was bleak and I did seek
A haven that I knew.

I know not why I cast a sigh
When shivers in me sent.
The fear of dread upon my bed,
No words could I have lent.

These were the thoughts that I had fought
Huddled in my room.
I was not brave nor could I save
Myself from sudden doom.

As fears did swell this ghost from hell
Left me a freightened child.
The storm has passed I'm free at last
From fears that once ran wild.

George, you write my kind of poetry. I love and admire your work, and I will be back for more. Your opening verse is an attention getter and your wisdom shines through every line. Congrats, I am also a PA author. By the way, I'd love to read more of your poetry so I am off to purchase 'No One Is Perfect Poetry' book. Be blessed.

I heartily echo Mr. Ed's review, GeorgeO...though it may be a much longer while until I am finished reading.

Nonetheless, I am glad..because it is chock-full of beautiful and thoughtful verse, with the Creator's touch, and it brings me much comfort and peace.

I am so proud of you, my DREAMBOAT POET- I told you greatness was in you!

Enjoy your fame,
Love&Blessings, Rhonda

But A Perfectly Wonderful Book of Poems!

I just finished reading it, and the author truly writes from his heart and soul about life, love, nature, and his profound faith in God. And he often combines each of these elements into a single poem. Here is one of my favorites from this book:

"If you listen in the morning, as the sun comes into view,
You'll hear a love bird singing, a song meant just for you.

This haunting melody of love, will echo in your ears,
It will fill your heart with joy, and cast away your fears.

So when you hear this love song, Know that God is very near,
He comes in many guises, But His voice is very clear.

The author's voice is very clear in each of his poems - and I enjoyed this book very much.
