A book of comfort for those who have lost a precious pet. Biblical evidence of pet afterlife.

Who can one turn to when the unexpected suddenly happens and their long-time pet is no more? Where can they go for help? Often, these things happen without warning and so abruptly that there isn't even time to say goodbye to our wonderful best friends. Even if it is expected, it is still crushing and seems so final. It is as if we are in a bad dream that we cannot awaken from. There are those learned few psychiatrists and other professionals who stand ready to help us with our trauma and emotions. They are able to assist us to that place of acceptance, and help strengthen our resolve to recover from the blow. But even they cannot mend the broken heart or fill the empty void left in our lives by the irreversible loss. There is a cure for our hearts however, a way to turn that emptiness into hope…a hope of seeing our pets again. As extraordinary as that may sound, I assure you that it is true.

Losing a pet is a very difficult experience for most pet owners. The isolation one feels when dealing with this specific kind of grief can be overwhelming at times. After all, most people seem to think, 'it was only an animal.' Gary Kurz, author of Cold Noses at the Pearly Gates, wants you to know you are not alone. Not only are there others who understand your intense feelings of loss, but there is also reason for great hope.

In the introduction to his book, Mr. Kurz explains that it was the loss of his beloved Chihuahua, Pebbles, that led him to research the concept of animal afterlife. In the wake of Pebbles' death, a friend reacted to Kurz's grief with the cold response of someone who has clearly never shared a close relationship with an animal. Her sarcastic remark about "doggy heaven" led Kurz to turn to the Bible for comfort and understanding of what had become of his cherished Pebbles-and we should all be glad he did.

The result is a book offering great comfort and peace to anyone, young or old, who has ever lost a pet. No, there isn't a doggy heaven. In fact, there is only one Heaven and it is a place where we will all live together. All of us humans and our lost, but not forgotten, pets.

Mr. Kurz leads the reader through a convincing analysis of the spiritual state of animals. Do they have a soul? Yes. Are they loved by their Creator? Yes, indeed.

Mr. Kurz explores several other topics in the book that I found quite thought-provoking. In one section he proposes that animals will have the ability to speak in the afterlife. Initially, even I (a diehard animal lover myself) reacted with skepticism to this concept. But, once I read what the author had to say on the subject, it seemed a natural, logical assumption. I looked at my dog and half-expected her to open her mouth and talk to me.

Cold Noses at the Pearly Gates is an incredibly well researched book offering true and lasting peace for individuals coping with pet loss. The author's concern for his readers is made evident throughout the book. He wants you to know you are not alone and that the Word of God offers you hope in your grief and salvation through Jesus Christ. I would recommend it to all animal lovers.

This book has given me the comfort that I will see my horse Blaze when I go to heaven along with my family. This book is so enjoyable I cannot put it down. God Bless Gary for this. I always thought that we would see our precious animals again. And now I can rest assured that it will happen.....

Your book sounds wonderful. I lost my 14 year old Jasmine to bladder cancer last year. Her companion of 13 years, Baby, died 3 months later of a broken heart. The day I put Jasmine to sleep, I told Baby she would no longer be with us. She hung her head in understanding of our loss, and crawled under the bed for several days. When I took Baby in to be put to sleep, I told her that she could now see Jasmine. Just before she went to sleep, I could tell she understood what I said and know it brought her comfort.

Losing them left me empty for a long while, even after I got 2 new dogs. Thank you for bringing comfort to a grieving pet owner.

I stumbled on this today and boy it hit me hard. my collie pack were all around the same age. I lost Annie at 13, Alex at 14 and Roxi at 12 all within a year of each other. Zuri, I think, felt it the worst. She mourned. I mourned. We still mourn.

I'd love to read your book.
