Standing against the wall looking on were three of Poindexter's guards. When they recognized Kurt they began to draw. Kurt shot all three of them in the chest. Sheriff Engler began a clumsy draw and the deputy just stared.
"Throw down your guns, boys. All of you--NOW!" said Kurt, his stare narrow and deadly. "Poindexter. You were talking about cowards. I have four pistols here. Which one do you want?"
"I am not a gun slick," said Poindexter. "You'd have all the advantage."
"Yeah, but your hire gun slicks. You hang around with them. You tell them what to do. You sent one and he killed my father. So, as they say, live by the gun, die by the gun."
"The most spellbinding western to come out of the old west since RIDERS OF THE PURPLE SAGE."
