Why is it so hard for me to let go of the past, she wondered. Nick was back and already she couldn’t get him out of her head. Since the day he had just shown up at her office, she had been reliving their fun times together in his old dilapidated apartment. Then the awful night that changed her life forever would sneak into her thoughts, and a sharp pain in her heart would bring her back to reality, but her desire for him would not go away.
