This is an important book because it will take you into the past to hear what highly respected theologians have had to say about animal immortality. Their conclusions will bring added reassurance to anyone who has turned to the church for comfort and walked away heartbroken after hearing the biblically unsound dogma that "animals have no eternal soul" and are without hope of eternal life.

Mary Buddemeyer-Porter, author of the widely read, visionary book, Will I See Fido in Heaven?, presents a concise yet thorough compilation of quotes from such clergy and theologians as Martin Luther, John Calvin, John Wesley, Pope John Paul II and George MacDonald in Animals, Immortal Beings to send a compelling, comforting message: "non-human creatures have eternal life." The book includes a chapter by Reverend Jeff Harker, a Baptist minister and theologian who focused his theological studies on the eternal soul and spirit of animals. Throughout the book, Buddemeyer-Porter infuses her elegant, uplifting commentary on the inherent beauty of worthiness of animals in the eyes of God.

A soothing treat for all human companions to animals and for anyone who loves all creatures great and small, Animals, Immortal Beings is based on thorough research and steeped in spirituality.

The view of true Christian concerning the treatment of animals is beautifully expressed by Reverend James E. Carroll, and Episcopal priest in San Diego, California. Reverend Carroll delivered a sermon which stated: The Church of God is concerned with all life, when she is true to the Divine vocation, and this ‘all’ includes the creatures of God’s animal kingdom… “The callous may escape the prosecution of human law, but he will never escape divine judgment, for he has abused the dominion which God gave him over the creatures, and there are few graver sins than this”…

“A committed Christian, who knows what his religion is about, will never kill an animal needlessly. Above all, he will do his utmost to put a stop to any kind of cruelty to any animals. A Christian who participates in or give consent to cruelty to animals had better reexamine his religion or else drop the name Christian?”

I do not think it could be said better. I thank Reverend Carroll for giving me permission to print his sermon in “Animals, Immortal Being”

He (Christ) is the image of the invisible God, the first-born of all creation; for in him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible…all things were created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. (Colossians 1:15-17)

Professional Reviews

Teachings of the most highly respected theologians
Mary Buddemeyer-Porter synthesizes the teachings of the most highly respoected theologians past and present and puts an end to the modern error and low view of God's everlasting love for His animal creation. Let's hope this book finds its way into the hands of every pastor, priest, and church member. If you have lost a pet, take heart." Brian Dougan, English Teacher South Korea

Proof of animal immortality
"This book is considered by many reviewers to be the most comprehensive source of proof on the topic of animal immortality and should convince millions more that God's plan for our animal friends should be included by all Christian and non-Christian religions in their daily teachings." Bill LaSalle, Former member of the Full Gospel Businessmen's Fellowship International, weekly Christian radio host Canada

Scriptural Evidence
"Well-researched, her book is beautifully written and conceived and offers far more than mere hope, but rather concrete scriptural evidence that animals are immortal and that we will one day be reunited with the beloved pets with whom we have shared our lives," writes grief counselor, Diane Pomerance, Ph.D.
