FaithBased Grants
eBook FaithBased Grants
Grants Consulting

Educates faith-based groups on how to align themselves for federal grnat funding opportunities.

Not a day goes by when I don’t receive an e-mail or telephone call from a small church or ministry from some town n the United States wanting to apply for grant opportunities—to repair their church; to build a community service building or to start a community service project, like low-income housing or a soup kitchen.

Both church or ministry leaders and their members are under the impression that the President and Congress have allocated millions and millions of public funds for faith-based organizations—for any purpose, religious or nonreligious—and that the faith-based grant tree is full of unrestricted, no-strings-attached, ready-for-the-picking fruits: also known as grant awards.

In this book, my goal is to help churches and ministries across the United States—large and small, denominational and nondenominational—understand how to align institutions and congregations to receive the abundance intended under the federal government’s faith-based grants initiative.

Excerpt
The book was written to guide churches and other ministry groups how to position themselves to receive what remains of the Federal faith-based grantmaking initiativein other words, How to get a piece of the pie before the pie is gone. In 168 pages of detailed information, the author guides readers on how to conduct an organizational needs assessment; strategic funding plan; file for a separate IRS nonprofit status (application form and guidelines are appended); create community partnerships, and more! Remember, the author is a grant writer, so in Chapter 8: Writing Right is where she shares her expertise in this area. In all, this 10-chapter workbook is a great self-guiding tool for faith-based groups.

The Author knows that Faith-based work is not just pie-in-the-sky but the accomplishment of the work is based on concrete skills. This is a great book to get the skills you need to make a difference where you are. Let's face it -- there are not many places you can go to learn how to do faith based work -- so this book is worth the investment!
