Stan I.S. Law

Sequel to The Avatar Syndrome (Three 5 star reviews on Amazon.com).

Excerpts available on author's website

Part Three of the Trilogy is getting ready for publication.

"The Pentagon's most diabolical plot for world domination."

Join Anne (heroine of The Avatar Syndrome); her husband, Peter; Sir Ian, the affable maestro; Gabriel, the mystical butler; and their new friend, Gio, the quirky but powerful Cardinal of the Holy Roman Church as they unravel the most sinister bid for power the world has ever seen. THE HEADLESS WORLD pits the traditions and beauty of the Vatican against the cold mechanical might of the American War Machine. The whole world is the playing field. Who will win? Who will decide the future? Now available at all major online book distributors.

At long last Headless World is on Kindle:

 Enjoy!

5 out of 5 stars  for:

A Complex Tapestry of Plot and Character.

Stan Law is the master of visionary fiction, and with Headless World he has outdone even his own previous tours de force. An audaciously complex plot involves American power hunger, the venality of politicians, the courage of characters whose special gifts make the difference between doom and redemption, and an ingenious twist that keeps you turning pages with a fast-beating heart. The author's intellectual range and exquisitely poetic descriptions make his work always exceed your expectations. This is a book not to be missed nor rushed through but savored. Every line is a gift.

Review by Kate Jones, writer/editor, (Pasadena, MD USA) on the Amazon.com.

More 5 stars for:

The Pentagon versus the Vatican

To quote Winston Churchill, "Never was so much owed by so many to so few." While Churchill's statement referred to RAF and the British Isles in 1940, in Headless World the same sentiment can apply to Anne, the heroine of The Avatar Syndrome and the whole world. Aided by the inimitable Camerlengo of the Holy Roman Church, Anne is forced apply her unique talents to save civilization from impending doom.

This book is a meditation upon the intrinsic values of good and evil, of love and power, of universal values versus parochial egocentricity. Action takes you at breakneck speed to the very brink of global destruction. Then? Then you have to read on...

Review by B. Happach, publisher, (Montreal, Canada) on the Amazon.com.

Excerpt
Somewhere behind him, among the living, someone began singing Salve Regina. Even as Cardinal Pesci walked up from the grotto, the crowds picked up the hymn. Soon tens of thousands of people were singing farewell to Ioannes Paulus.

The Camerlengo rushed back to his office. Four men were sitting there. One in a cassock the other three in civilian clothing. The physicians Carlo had brought at his request.

"Well?" he asked them.

The men fidgeted uncomfortably. No one spoke. As he repeated his question, they all started talking at once. None of them said anything of value. They were as lost as he was. An act of God? A miracle? But why? Are we to reduce the protocol, to become simpler, more accessible? Are we to break barriers between the dignitaries and the believers? Weren’t the dignitaries believers also?

Probably not.

The Camerlengo sat heavily. He’d never felt so alone in his life. The four doctors were blabbering without rhyme or reason. And he looked out the window hardly hearing them.
