Wilma inched forward. One step into the threshold, she waited. The space ahead of her held the gloom of wickedness and she shivered. One more step and she was clear of the doorway.
In the abnormally restained light, she clearly saw the black line descend in front of her. She screamed."No," and pushed with her weight and the knife caught. The line resisted her force on it.
