Description:
The song lyrics of songs by jazz pianist/songwriter Michael Guy is to be followed up by a self-published CD in 2009. These are mostly his lyrics, some of which were published here on AD in August 2007 but a few poems. These arrangements given in large type include full color photos of the related personal and nature themes. Some of the photos show his striking rich collage work in his music CD covers to be published by JzCDz.com in 2008. Enjoy this colorful personal history and lyrical prelude to his CD, including some fine American History story-songs set during major periods of U.S. history.
And although the songs of Michael A. Guy will not publish until 2009, his magical and mysterious heart-song to the beauty of the Tropical Oceans, "August Ocean Overture" is available NOW for sale on Amazon's CreateSpace, Amazon.com and CDbaby; also many digital music download sites (iTunes). SEE: his new website for details in the links below.

Across the Sea of Madness
By Michael A. Guy
These copyrighted songs were written between 1995 or so and the present, some of which are currently available on my recorded CD of jazz/new age piano music entitled, August Ocean Overture (released online October 2007). Please see my websites www.jzcdz.com for details, or go to Authorsden.com and search under Authors “G” for my homepage. Many of the remaining songs (those not true poems) will be released in 2008 as a song demo CD with the same title: Across the Sea of Madness with the author as composer and keyboardist, and Michael L’ecluse performing on vocals. Again see my webpage or search in Google under Michael A. Guy or under this title above.
Across the Sea of Madness
KEY: begins in Bb major (Home Key)
I. Intro: 1 instrumental refrain: pizzicato. Bass and Elec. Piano L.H.
1.
A boat upon the ocean....
A ship that’s lost at sea....
I sail a trackless sea.
(in search of you, in search of me)
2. bar#10:
Like a gull upon a windy track,
I will sail this tack, / (more like half-voice)
while I catch a wind to blow me back. / 3. Hum (no words) thru bar#18
4. Across the ‘Sea of Madness’..... /
Across the gulf of pain,
The course of storms, wind, waves and rain.
5. In your arms my course will be run,
In your love my ship will come,
To sail its final run. /
6. Hum (bars 26-34)
7. Bar#35 (sing these lines freely over music)
Westward into the setting sun
One westward, to be one
I’m sailing Home Again
I’m Westward Bound,
I’m sailing Home Again
I’m Homeward Bound
[Across The Sea Of Madness]
Westward into the sun. // bar43
Abrupt stop bar43: INSTRUMENTAL all guitars come in on 3-chord romp.

my Blue Skies
I BELIEVE in my blue skies
And I believe there is an eternity of them
in my mind.
I believe in wild-flowers that bloom,
along the wild, rocky roads of gloom.
I believe in skies,
that turn to sunshine after every rain.
And I believe in a love so strong,
it can wash away all the pain.
I believe in a summer day,
for every child along the way,
I believe in blue skies,
in something magic, in something so brand new,
that I know, I believe in you.

Excerpt
Well my skies aren't all that blue lately, AND I am not yet "Across that sea of madness..." I have a ways to go before my song CD is finished and published BUT my debut piano CD: August Ocean Overture IS published for sale!
Will this incredible piano and beautiful Jazz Instrumental CD: "August Ocean Overture" begin to draw the attention it deserves, as well as sales.
And guess what? If I am going to make it "Across this sea of Madness" I will need your support (I'm not a rich or retired guy) with money or a steady job.
If this music is to survive, I need people to support it by buying my piano CD which is available now -
I need the money to stay alive long enough to then record these songs.
Or you can start by buying this PDF e-book of my songbook: "Across the Sea..."
I needed to have these books on hand when I play out this spring in support of my CD.
If you want a beautiful color-cover 81/2 x 11 lyric booklet of this ebook just wait to buy the print copy here. But of course that won't cost $5. Cost alone was about $13 a copy to publish.
Thanks for your support and you can buy my CD soon by checking my new website below -
I deserve to succeed, I've been playing this music and piano since 1974!
PS: see my song lyric to "My Old Black & White" included in this booklet for that story!
Best to you, michael
Here are some of the songs included in this volume along with associated Full-color Pictures:

My Country
the Farther Shore
the Uninhabited (God is Lonely)
