Chased by assassins and befriended by a man determined to love her, Rowyn must find her way to the fabled city of Akashan’te before the conjunction of the six sister stars. Only then can her true power be known.

With eyes as black as midnight, hair as white as bleached bones and powers that go beyond anything the world had seen in centuries, all Rowyn of Cotswold wished for on her birthday was a little adventure. As the saying goes: “Be careful what you wish for.” Raised by her aunts, the three witches of Cotswold, she knows nothing about her powers until a fateful day when she returns home from a shopping trip to find everything and everyone gone. With only a cryptic message from her aunts to go by, she must make her way to the mythical city of Akashan’te before the conjunction of the six sister stars but there are dark forces that are just as determined that she never reach the city. The fate of the entire world depends on her being there at the designated time. Chased by assassins and befriended by a giant of a man determined to guard her and love her no matter what, Rowyn’s wish does come true, but in ways she can’t even begin to imagine. It is only through friendship, trust and love that she is able to accept what she has become and attain her true destiny. Excerpt
Rowyn reached for the blade. When she touched it, a shock went through her entire body and she felt nauseous and dizzy. In her mind, she envisioned a door opening and someone or something wholly evil staring at her. Her thoughts rejected the intrusive illusion and her world went dark.

The Six Fiefdoms in a Time of Myth and Legend
Raised by her three loving aunts, Rowyn has never felt deprived. After a wonderful birthday celebration, she makes a wish for adventure that will yield fruit she could never have expected. Allowed to travel into town by herself for the first time, Rowyn saves a child from drowning, is gifted with a beautiful cloak in thanks, and is nearly killed by an assassin’s blade soon after. Rowyn’s adventures are just beginning. Luckily she’ll have her new friend, Daniel, by her side.
Daniel is a guardsman intrigued by the dichotomy that Rowyn presents. She’s an innocent who couldn’t possibly have earned enemies with the Charosian assassins at their disposal, and she also seems to possess unearthly powers. Though Rowyn doesn’t know it yet, Daniel believes that she is going to be a very important woman, maybe the most important person in centuries.
Rowyn finds a note at her aunts’ cottage asking her to meet them at the city of Akashan 'te. While this seems like a simple task on the surface, it’s anything but, as the city is merely a fable to most. Rowyn has no idea how to find the city -- this could be a difficult trip indeed. As Rowyn and Daniel travel, she’ll grow in her powers, and new friends, as well as enemies, will be discovered.
A tale full of adventure, magic, and a young woman who must grow into someone capable of saving the world, AKASHAN 'TE is a well written fantasy from an inspired imagination. Rowyn is just eighteen years old when the book starts, and like many girls her age, she yearns for adventure and the thrill of the unknown. Rowyn is constantly growing and expanding her boundaries throughout the book, becoming a woman who trusts her instincts, believes in the power of good, and defies Jeros, the evil one who seeks to control the world. Daniel is an interesting man, and while herbs and fighting don’t seem like compatible interests, they’re two of the places where his talents lie. When Daniel realizes how important Rowyn is, and that his dreams of a life with her are futile, you feel his heartbreak. Though Rowyn is the one who must defeat Jeros, she can only do it with the help of Daniel and the friends she’s met along the way. As in all good fantasies, true love and friendship will conquer all.
Jeros is one of the Others, people with powers far different from normal humans. His greatest hope is to rule the world, and he’s certain that with Rowyn by his side, he can triumph once and for all. If she doesn’t cooperate, he’ll kill her. Betzal has been Jeros’s servant for five long years, longer than any other man has lasted. He’ll be at Jeros’s side until the very end. Rowyn’s aunts, Emerald, Cerise, and Lapis, are interesting ladies; each has her own special set of skills, and they’ve raised Rowyn as their own, not only for her sake, but for the world’s as well. There are many other secondary characters who make important contributions to the story, but for the sake of space, I’ll let you discover them on your own.
If you love a good adventure spiced with magic, danger, and a thread of romance running throughout, don’t miss AKASHAN 'TE. Stop by Cerridwen Press and get your copy today.
