Cleanliness and health are inseparable. Unlike any other age group, young children are more vulnerable to the ill effects of lack of hygiene. Lack of hygiene practices are common factors affects young children's healthy living. Young children are more exposed to unhealthy conditions and dangerous substances because they spend most of their time on the ground touching and picking up things, especially in their early years. Good Personal hygiene practices are the answers to many children's common illnesses such as respiratory infections, diarrhea, stomach flu, etc. A clean kid is a responsibility of the kid's parent. When young children are taught early on, proper personal hygiene practices can lead to a lifetime of cleanliness and good healthy living behaviors.

"A Clean Kid Is A Healthier Kid ", is the result of my ambition to make adifference in the lives of children. Kids are fast learners, "if we would build on a sure foundation in nurturing, co-operation, friendship, and or mutual respect and understanding, we must first appreciate for what they are, love them for their sake rather than our own". Caring for young children is one way I confidently feel that I can effectively offer my contribution positively in dealing with issues which affect children and families' health, growth and development. The environment we live supports our healthy living, as well as affects our healthy living. Providing a child a tool for an optimal environment for good physical and mental health is every parent, adult, teacher, and or early child care educators. Cleanliness and health are inseparable. Personal hygiene practices is important for evrybody but more important for young children. Poor living conditions, unhealthy behaviors, and unhealthy environment affects us all. It affects our health and our our well-being physically and mentally. If you want to stop frequent or repeatedly infectious viruses which causes many common children's illnesses, you must focus on children's hygiene practices. Untidy kid starts from untidy parent. If children are clean and tidy its because we teach the and become good example to them.

5 THINGS WHY KIDS HYGIENE IS VERY IMPORTANT

1.     It enhance the quality of life- Living long and healthy life depends on opportunities for good living conditions, kid’s friendly environment, i.e. environment, which can afford of

children’s rights to respect, healthy living-

          attracts social and cultural encounters.

2.     It is the most effective way to curb epidemic such as respiratory virus, diarrhea, stomach flu, and other infectious illnesses.

3.     Prevent contaminants entering our bodies-cleanliness, e.g. hand washing, protected sneezing/coughing, safe drinking water, good sanitation prevent children from getting sick-don’t wait for your child to get sick or after he or she gets sick to recover naturally. Avoid spread of diseases through enhancing clean environment and good hygiene habits.

4.     Hygiene save lives- it reduces morbidity and mortality related to illnesses caused by lack of hygiene. Each year more than ten million children under the age of five die, moist from preventable and treatable illnesses such as diarrhea, dehydration, and respiratory infections. These lives could be saved or prevented through the simple act of proper hand washing, good sanitation and access to safe drinking water.

5.  Clean is health-healthy kids have good

attendance, active, and focus in school and on

their future, unhealthy kids cannot attend

school; tend to be passive and unable to focus

     on their future.

Adveline, this is a wonderful book! My kids (5 and 3) love it! The pictures are clear and they illustrate the story in a way that kids can relate and will always remember. Hongera sana!

I particularly like the summary at the end, it's great because it will help older kids to remember important aspects of the book and parents can use it the same way for younger kids.

Keep it up Adveline! We will be waiting for your next book this coming Fall 2008!
