Growing up in Fort Myers, it wasn’t “hip” to be different. The children in Katrina’s neighborhood played house and sports, while she played school and wrote poetry. She became an outcast and her social involvement decreased. Eventually she conformed and suppressed the Creator’s gift. Throughout life, Katrina secretly used poetry as her outlet and her talent flourished. In 2006 she hit rock bottom and prayed over a fortune cookie. She asked God to deliver any message she hadn’t received from Him through that cookie. That fortune said, “Go Confidently in the Direction of Your Dreams.” Katrina has since written articles, read at poetry venues, began a writing agency and is recording audio CD’s. There’s no limit to her honest subject matter. Her Christianity reflects gospel, heritage gives soul and jazz, heartache brings R&B and these components bridge the gaps into a perfect equilibrium making her royalty. This is her life.
