First Wives' Tool Kit

Tools that help you get up, dust off, and start over after divorce, separation or widowhood.

WHAT THIS BOOK CAN DO FOR YOU

Carol Kreit combines her down to earth business wisdom with the inspiration and encouragement she gained as a woman who has "been there." The result is a digestible program that will enable you to find your place in the real world. Accented with metaphors and personal stories, this book offers constructive ways to regain control of your life and to create an enriched future for yourself and those you love.
Excerpt
RECOGNIZING WHERE YOU ARE NOW Let's imagine that as you go along in life you are writing your own life as a Broadway play. Recently you have experienced an "interruption" in your composition. How you view yourself after your life plan has fallen apart will have its impact on the rest of your life and even on the lives of those around you. Let's take a moment to realistically look at where you are in your life's story. Right now you feel you are in uncharted waters. Although divorce and widowhood are commonplace today, you realize you have had little guidance or positive examples to get you through the difficult adjustments that are ahead of you. What should you be telling yourself at this moment? First, you must recognize that you've had many good years up to now. No matter what has been your life exeience, recall the many meaningful and happy memories you treasure. Then, looking forward, recognize that you are entitled to have many good years ahead as well. Keep in mind how far the journey of your story can take you. In your "Broad-way play" the end of your story has yet to be composed. It's important to recognize that you are not at the end of your life, but only in the middle. This is your intermission.

Professional Reviews

J.D. Masters, Reviewer www.booktrees.com
Every once in a great while, I am privileged to read a significant piece of writing—a work—that has enormous potential for changing lives, while leaving the world a gratuity. First Wives’ Tool Kit, is such a treasure. This little book is a gutsy work accomplished by a courageous woman, who had to overcome enormous emotional and social barriers to get—in her words—her life "back on track". Far from being a ‘dry read’, I found it full of laughable humor and meaningful insights.

Alice Geidekier, First VP, Prudential Securities, Inc.
This book should be required reading for any woman facing change in her financial, social and/or emotional life. The words cut to the chase in giving honest, heart-felt advice.

Sister Francis Raftery, Pres.,College of St. Elizabeth
Carol Kreit equips the reader with a tool kit that is nourishing, transforming and spiritually renewing.
