Within the confines of this book it will be hard to find a poem that does not uplift your spirits,
Challenge your mind, Mesmerize your thoughts or just make you feel good.
George’s poems will carry you to all aspects of life as in his poem
“Not To Late” which looks at our environment and in his poem about escape entitled “The Captain Of My Thoughts.” To a sailor’s ringing of “Eight Bells.” To a lovers longing for a mate in “Not Far Away,” to lost love in “A Love That Never Was.”
And in his poem “The Oceans Voice” a metaphor is born that will intrigue you. For all who are dreamers you’ll find his “Realistic Dreams” enchanting. George touches on the death of a loved one in “An Angel Loaned To Me” and he did not forget the storm Katrina as he relives it in “I Sang The Blues In New Orleans.”
George likes to write about the sea as in “The Ship Of Life” and in the romantic poem “Come Sail With Me.” His faith in God shines in “Life Eternally”, an inspirational poem.
A little laugh comes out in his poem “Still Sleeping” that poets can relate to.
A sailors delight is found in another sea poem called “The Seven Seas To Roam.”
And not the least of his poems, “God’s Majestic Show” you will read this verse:
There is no end to God’s beauty.
It is there wherever I go.
I can see it in the valleys
And in a baby’s smiling glow.
These are but a few of the many poems George has written and as you turn each page you will be treated to a poem that will touch and elevate you above the mundane aspects of life.
Excerpt
Not Too Late
As I lay upon the beach of life
Caressed by the winds of time.
Mother nature and I are one
As I suckle on her breast sublime.
She feeds me with her mighty gifts,
I'm overwhelmed with what she offers.
Yet in pondering her great love for me
I fall short in how I make her suffer.
I'm careless in how I treat this land,
That she has blessed with all her tears.
The beauty that I neglect to see
Makes me shudder in all my fears.
But it's not too late to make amends;
Each day I can right all my wrongs.
I can beautify this land again,
For this Mother Nature longs.

"Not too Late"is a poem of hope.Although it is filled with remorse, the speaker is hopeful that he has the ability and the desire to change things, especially the role he has played in Mother Nature's defilement.
This poem speaks to the best in humanity, and it is powerful.
Much success
