Meet Justin Vaughn—charming, attractive, and successful. From the outside he appears to be at the top of his game. But underneath the glossy exterior lies a past fueled by bitterness and anger. The abuse and neglect suffered during his adolescence spills over into the present becoming the scapegoat of his many misguided actions. Caught in the consummate struggle between right and wrong, Justin wears a variety of faces as he straddles the fence over what kind of person he wants to be. While striving to do the right thing—like raising his teenage son, he demonstrates little control when it comes to fulfilling his every lurid desire. As he desperately yearns to receive the love lost amidst his broken childhood, he finds himself willing to compromise everything to get it.
Indulge yourself in this emotionally charged tale of love defined by life, lust, and liberty. Follow Justin as he learns the true meaning of love—realizing that the superficial conditions we so often confuse for the real thing are nothing more than mere myths of our own mind and the strongholds on our soul.
Set in the bustling cities of Atlanta and Chicago, music executive Justin Vaughn is complacent with his life. Justin spends his time balancing climbing the ladder of success and weaving in and out of meaningless relationships, with more women than he could care to name, or count--until a tragedy occurs and Justin suddenly finds himself in a struggle with demons from his past and present.
Dealing with the nagging shame of being an emotionally absent single father and the emptiness of his whorish existence, Justin attempts to turn his life around, only to be met with pitfalls, disappointments and at times, utter despair. Because of the tangled web Justin so often weaves, he ends up at rock bottom, before he can attempt to pull himself up out of darkness.
What Is Luv? demonstrates that lives can be made anew with true love, friendship, trust, and most of all, patience.
Still fixated, Natalie having contemplated the moment unleashes her innermost wish. “I don’t wanna fight anymore—about anything. I jus want this to work baby.” Releasing her fork, her delicate hand now caresses his ingrained jaw. “I don’t want us ta ever argue over Chris—so jus tell me what I need ta do?” Her eyes fill with unwavering devotion.
Momentarily stifled by the question, Justin stops chewing—swallowing much of his mouth’s contents whole. He collects himself—modifying his mood to a solemn seriousness before speaking. “I don’t know what you’re expectin’ me ta say—I mean, he’s apart of your life that I wish wasn’t there—but now what? …Cause nuthin’ will ever change that—right?”

Baby Don't Hurt Me...Don't Hurt Me, No More!
This well-written debut from newcomer Jay Tyvon deals with relationship issues from the male perspective. Main character Justin Vaughn is haunted by events from his childhood that flow over into adulthood, dictating how he deals with love in all facets. As the story is presented, readers are given an up close and personal view into just how complicated it can be to maintain healthy relationships when we are not true to ourselves; ignoring problems that were pushed to the side. We come to find that not only do we suffer, but those around us do also. And in order to break the cycle, instead of searching for love, we must consider its true meaning first. What is Luv? If we fail to be true to ourselves we may never find out, for all true love starts from within.
Mr. Tyvon executed his debut novel with the flair and presentation of a seasoned writer. The characters were presented in a way that the reader could appreciate, chapters were a good length, and the detail provided throughout left no room for assumption on the author's intention. This was a very refreshing read that leaves me anticipating only top-rate work from the author. Honestly...one of the best debuts I have ever read.
