The ghost, Kaliska keeps everyone off Fire Island. Danny the daring ten-year old, wants to investigate. Twins, Dillon and David and their sister Dee, try to keep him out of trouble. On they island they meet up with the ghost, Kaliska, who helps them find the boys, but they're on their own when it comes to capturing the thieves.

Dillon's heart leapt into his throat. Someone was here and it wasn't Danny or Michael. "Who's there?" he called out.
"Turn out the light," the voice said.
"Okay," David flicked the switch.
The four children came closer together and held on to each other. "Who's there?"
