Truth exists only when it has been accepted into the heart and soul of a person, so I closed mine. I wanted to interfere, delay the inevitable entry of these events into my reality. If I had allowed myself to experience the devastation that would have accompanied the truth at that time, it would have been dangerous.
Each time I thought of him another piece of my heart shattered, so it was best to avoid those thoughts at all cost. I took the memories that I treasure the most and put them in a safe place, far out of my consciousness - in a place where my heart couldn't feel them.
