From birth to exhaustion the Lord keeps us. All our needs have been met through Jesus Christ whom God has given us the great pleasure of serving. As ministers of the ‘Body of Christ’ we operate under a great plan. Our mission is to bring the "Good News" to the lost and dying world, those that have suffered far too long.
You are the ‘Virgin Bride’ awaiting her ‘Bridegroom’ your wait has been long and you have grown tired. Some have even fallen asleep. I charge you to push through the darkness, wipe away the sleep from the corners of your eyes, be reminded as to your station in life and keep your oil handy. For He is coming soon and you need to be ready. Arise, O Sleeper!
With faith we can put all our trust in God. Residing in that faith, knowing that what he has said is truth, helps us rest while we wait for our futures to come. God's hands are trustworthy; he has proven this time and again, and because we know this we can place our hearts in his stead and find the peace that Jesus left before he went on to be with the Father.
God revealed the mystery, that Christ is alive on the inside of us, so that when the enemy comes against us, God's best will help us enter peace, while our minds are at war.
I have become its servant by the commission God gave me to present to you the word of God in its fullness-- the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the saints. To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Colossians 1:25-27
God has delivered each one of us into his perfect peace by way of freedom. In freedom we have the ability to find our true calling and allow it to minister to our very hearts. We have been ordained as ministers to reach the lost and sent with special gifts for that mission. He has penetrated the very core of the darkness and brought us back, setting a light for our course, showing us the way and helping us gain strength for the journey. And with all this knowledge we still manage to fall.
My biggest trap that caught me every time was believing that God would love me enough and find something of himself in me and be able to use me to reach others. He prepared me long ago for this task, but I still relish in the flesh and forget that its about him not me. I have spent several years lingering at his feet, listening to his heart and worshiping him in spirit and in truth. I have meditated on his word so much that my filing cabinet is lined with journals and notepads full of his glory. Wisdom spills over in my binders from questions I have asked of him. And all these things were meant to create this one thing. This isnít my course for me, this is my course for you. I have been given the right as his co-heir to minister to you in your time of need. Out of my giving I receive my reward due me in time.
I have to share this with you; if we make it about us, we will forget the reason we are here, we will focus on self and find our flaws and never accomplish Godís mission. Rest in knowing that his calling is in you, his Spirit leads you, and his wisdom speaks through you. It doesnít matter what direction you take, it's his direction and he will not let you fall to the left or to the right.
There are going to be moments when you look into your heart and are reminded of things from your past you are not proud of, they will resurface many times as a ploy to keep you from God's best. You will think upon thoughts that have long been subdued, but God says we do not need to relish in them anymore. Stop looking at the surface of things, we are made of flesh, but we belong to the spirit and we must worship in spirit. So in these times, and they will be many, I suggest you put on the full armor of God.
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devilís schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of praying for all the saints. Ephesians 6:10-18
A Great Companion to the Holy Bible! I give it 5 enthusiastic stars *****
Author, Linda Hiles has written a book bound to be another Christian bestseller. Her words are anointed, they heal, they encourage, they inspire and they provide a lamp to the fallen Christian and to the unbelievers. Every word, phrase and quote in reference to the Bible is broken down and defined to the very fine detail. Linda gives us a step-by-step guide to getting ready and not be one of those found asleep when the Bridegroom arrives.
"You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love. The entire law is summed up in a single command: "Love your neighbor as yourself." (Galatians 5:13, 14)
Why then are we living a life of bondage? And why are we so full of hatred? Let Arise, O Sleeper! Help you free your mind and spirit, teach you how to receive what was meant to be yours from the very beginning and guide you to a place described as: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared in advance for those who love himóbut God revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. (1 Corinthians 2:9, 10)
I absolutely love this book and urge anyone and everyone to grab a copy and be prepared to journey through where you were meant to journey, for as the author writes, we are all here for a reason. Donít be caught dead or asleep, so Arise, O Sleeper! Be ready, fill your lamps with oil for you know not when HE will come.

A Book to be Studied
Arise, O Sleeper is not a quick one time read. It is a book to be studied, worth given much thought and reflection. I could easily see it being used in a womenís Bible Study class. The book has much inspiration within its pages because it is jammed pack with the Bible. I read it to give it a review and I think it is a 5***** event. A Warm and Devoted Tribute to God!
Linda Hiles writes a warm and devoted tribute to God in Arise, O Sleeper. With trust in God and belief in his Son Jesus, eternal life will follow. She has a firm belief in faith. She carefully chooses her words as she gives her interpretation of selected quotes from Bible scripture. Linda Hiles is a gentle soul, spreading the messages she receives from God.
Every reader will find passages in which they can relate. Itís apparent that Linda Hiles has had a painful past, but she emerges from it like a rising phoenix with strong words, reminding us of the imposters that hide in churches and warning us to be aware of their existence. She follows with a suggestion to "put on the full armor of God" to stand up against the evil lurking in unexpected places and to not be taken in by "false prophets." Her experiences have taught her that only God has earned her trust. When she trusts in Him, she canít go wrong.
This is a book to read over a period of time. Thereís so much information that itís impossible to completely understand through a quick read. But once the reader comes back, say in a troubled time in life, the messages may all be seen in a different light. Itís a soothing read yet conveys powerful revelations.
