Painting Like a being unto itself Hues of different shades Dance in our hair
On our skin
All over us…
The colors mix and run
Spreading life across
A span of emptiness
We blend together Into one soul… Moving, twisting Across the expanse We make a creation
Out of utter joy Out of love In the final moment An explosion of color
And we find
What we have made Is a creature, wild… If you look at what was once nothing
You can see it breathe…and you can see
…A hint of us…

Sparrow in the Snow
Writers Club Press
This is a volume of poetry listed as A Life of Poetry Through Her Eyes.
'Sparrow in the Snow,' is uplifting; the sparrow a tiny beacon - Hope.-
In 'Sky Spirit', Hearing, I never heard - And seeing, I never Saw evoke
deep emotions. A recurring theme within the poems centers around dreams
'These Dreams' one of my favorites.
'Heat Wave' and -the day's rush of heat slides under my door- is
descriptive and really captures the heat of summer. It too talks of dreams.
The ending of a relationship is felt poignantly in 'Suitcase of Memories.'
Ah that we had a poetry maker such as is found in 'Your Words.' Dreams
again appear in 'Did You.' My favorite is the delicate 'Seascape' with its
misty fog on a twilight seashore.
With 82 poems covering a variety of subjects there truly is something for
everyone to enjoy. The slim tome is one to be enjoyed again and again.
Lovely work. Well recommended

Definition of a Poet
poet/n. / 1 a person possessing high powers of imagination or expression. 2. Ashley Alquine.
Reviewing this site is our pleasure. The word pleasure being an understatement. Here, you will find a collection of poetry written and laid out for you to view over and over again. And you'll want to. The words of praise for this author cannot measure what you truly feel when you leave the website.
Ashley's prose lifts off of the pages and attaches itself to the warmth of your heart. As Ashley herself puts it 'These are the fine linen, crystal, and china of my poetry.' We'd be happy with the old junk hidden away in the chests in the attic! We all wanted MORE. Not to worry...her books are available at numerous bookstores across the country.
Ashley has been writing poetry for a number of years, and it shows. You've heard of POETIC MOVEMENT ? This site has it in abundance. Isn't it poetic justice that she now has won the Bohica2k Art Of Excellence Award? (We just HAD to throw that in!) Ashley also has a poetry community for you to get involved in.
You've read enough of our words, now go be moved by hers!
