An adult satirical sci fi story set in a future unified European super state
This is an e-book on CD rom, fully-illustrated, with some content of an adult nature, with sex, horror, humour and political satire. It has 3D illustrations, some animated, also theme music composed by the author. The effect is like a cross between a book and a movie. The heroine of the story is a glamorous Dutch agent called Hannie Peters.Hannie is sent to spy on a notorious revolutionary named Greyston Powell, who wears a sinister visor with a floating holographic face. She meets him on the Moonbase Colony, to fly back to earth with him and his scurrilous crew of henchmen. While working undercover, Hannie ends up in all kinds of trouble....

Professional Reviews
From Charlotte Mair at Artvilla
Good day to ya Sara.
I just received your story CD in the mail and put it into the computer and it runs fine..no problems..I just had a quick look..The art on the front page and the first page is very impressive. I read into it a bit... the start of a very different story indeed. I like the way it just starts right in... I enjoy getting involved with the character, relating, the emotional side of things. I like to know how the character
is feeling.

"Spiders and Gliders" by Sara Russell is a sci-fi electronic novel that breaks new ground in both plot and delivery. Set in the future where Europe has become a left-wing confederation, the tale follows the adventures of the glamourous, Dutch spy, Hannie Peters. The antagonist, Greyston Powell, is a multi-faced villian -- literally -- one not met in any other novel, for he wears a visor which displays various holographic faces.
But the unique attributes of this book goes far beyond imaginative writing. The Kedco Studios CD ROM format has provided this author a showcase for her many talents. Russell not only penned the novel itself, but also created the artwork and background music. Rarely has an artist been able to flesh out a story so completely by creating not only a fictional universe, but also clothing her creation with visual and auditory enhancements to better reveal her world. If you like imaginative sci-fi in a sweeping format which just a decade or two ago was itself sci-fi speculation, then you must pick up "Spiders and Gliders." |
