An e-book of poems on CD ROM with video and audio recitals, with impressive graphics and midi music
Pinky's Little Book of Shadows is an illustrated e-book on CD ROM with poems set out on web pages featuring the striking graphics of Australian graphic designer Graham Ramsay. It also includes video and audio recitals. The videos were made at home using natural light and props owned by the author.
Sara is a musician as well as a poet, and some of the midi music she composed herself, especially some of the more sinister melodies of the "Dark Shadows" section of poetry.Pinky's Little Book of Shadows was featured in the UK's national newspaper The Mirror, in the year it was published.

THE MINIMALISTS (on CD as video recital)
Sara L. Russell
It was Christmas at the house of Dot and Pete
and they sat on their low chrome chairs,
gazing at a pine sprig in a bowl
at the foot of their spiral stairs.
The Bauhaus painting on the wall
was their present to themselves.
Not a twig of holly decked the hall
or the pale blue perspex shelves.
Dot's sudden frown was quite austere
as Pete stiffly relaxed.
"Oh damn, we forgot the turkey, dear!
Do you think we could have one faxed?"

Off the top, I need make mention of Sara Russell’s "Pinky’s Little Book of Shadows", and the immaculate perception with which the layout and design were achieved. Being a real stickler for perfection and tidiness, I have found Ms. Russell’s work to be extraordinarily tasteful.
This CDROM was obviously conceived with much love and planning, for not only can one sight lovely backgrounds, original art and pieces of Sara Russell’s AKA "Pinky Andrexa’s" original sound tracks, but within the poetry, Sara’s offers, in "Pinky’s Little Book of Shadows" exquisite writing, to say the least.
A solid read of her poetry is both captivating and poignant, with much educational flair.

Pinky's Little Book of Shadows is a wonderful cornucopia of poetic wit, artistic display and musical talent in multimedia form. Pinky Andrexa aka Sara L. Russell is a refreshing talent her poetry shows a wide range of subject matter and is unmistakably original. Sara's Video Recitals are done with the dramatic flair of a performance artist as in "Sonnet to a Salesman" recited by Sara dressed in Tudor Queen garb, and the first part of "Sheep in Drag From Outer Space" recited in a "hip-hop" rap style. Sara's Audio Recitals equally evoke the spirit of her poetry. Rogues Gallery Sara's collection of fantasy rock star paintings with my personal favorite "Space Virgin" Madonna steering her career to planet success shows that Sara is an accomplished artist as well. If you love poetry Pinky's Little Book of Shadows is a worthy addition to your collection, and if you love music or art the same holds true for you.
