My Life with Laura: A Love Story (from Lulu)
This is a love story, albeit a tragic one. Chad and Laura dated and married. Shortly thereafter, they gave birth to a beautiful daughter, Charlotte. Life was perfect...until they learned that Laura had breast cancer. This book describes the exciting experiences of courtship, the beauty of their wedding, the joy of family, and the struggles of dealing with illness. Laura remained a beacon of strength to many throughout her battle with breast cancer. She was strongly rooted in her faith. This memoir tells an inspirational story, even for those who did not know her. It is dedicated to Charlotte, so that she will better know her mother.
“Moutray has assembled a loving tribute to his wife, whose faith, goodwill and cheerfulness were present in abundance throughout her life and during her illness. …. A faith-affirming story of surviving a devastating loss."

The author’s memories are fresh and detailed. We—more fortunate—gloss over our lives and in the process lose those bits and pieces that make it special. This book got me thinking about my own life. How I also met my wife through “the personals,” our first date, our wedding, the joys and challenges we have faced. By any standards Chad Moutray does a good job. The narrative is clear, honest and, because we know tragically where this is leading, very moving. …. This is not the kind of book a major publisher would produce. What a shame, but how wonderful that advances in technology now makes it possible for real people to write real books for other real people. The story of their love is heartwarming. Thanks, Chad. And thank you, Laura.

Reader Reviews for "My Life with Laura: A Love Story"
|Reviewed by John Domino
|An outstanding tribute to your loved one. Laura is definately an angel right now. I feel we are both kindred spirits. My first wife left earth over 20 yrs. ago due to breast cancer. I wrote a short story about her that took almost 20 years for me to get out. It is called "A Slice of a Short Life" on my website.
God bless you my friend.
