Interview with a Freelancer Celebrating Success. By,Kimberly Ripley
~*~Interview with a Freelancer Celebrating Success~*~

Theresa Jodray-Koch has her Masters of Science in Parapsychic Science and an ordained minister as well as a successful freelance writer. Her two published e-books are new marks of her continued success.

I recently had the pleasure of interviewing Teri Jodray.

How long have you written short stories and poetry, and when did it first occur to you to write a book?

I have written songs all my life. I thought about writing a book of poetry off and on throughout my life. My mother wrote poetry and children's stories for my sister and I when we were children. I started thinking about it then. My mother had several articles and poems published.

What do you write besides poetry?

I write articles on the paranormal--that is what I study. And I write articles on the issues of abuse.

Where have you been published?

I have two e-books available through SynergE books and will have one released soon through Lemon-Press called The Paranormal Poet. My SynergE books are Twelve Tiny Tales and The Psychic Soul.

Is your freelancing a hobby or source of income?

It's an income source and a pleasure!

How do you overcome writer's block?

I walk out into God's Creation. I only have to walk out into Nature and I am in awe.

Name some things that inspire your writing.

Nature and wildlife.

Are you a freelancer "later in life"? And do you mind disclosing your age?

Yes. And no, not at all! I am 41.

What do your family and friends think of your writing?

They love it. They actually keep me wanting to continue my writing.

Theresa Jodray closed our interview with these words:

Thank you, Kim, for allowing me to share a little bit of my life with you. It has been a real pleasure.

And likewise it is always a pleasure to chat with or read the incredible works of Theresa Jodray. In addition to writing stories, articles, and poetry, Teri Jodray is a brilliant photographer. Check out her photographs in Clouds are the Creator's Fingerprints,

From the poignant refrain found in the opening ode Land of the Deceased, to the ‘Sienna sierra set before my weary eyes’ beauty of the last sonnet Beautiful Sunday Glorious Day, The Psychic Soul offers the reader a rich tapestry of sights, colors, scents and emotions. The piquant perkiness filling BRRRR is balanced with the depth found in the roundel Alaskan Landscape. The stanzas offer the reader a peek into the day of the poet as she trudges out into the ice and snow of that frosty land with her coffee in hand, dogs by her side and camera at the ready.

Walking Lightly Across Glass brings the reader another view into the poet’s mien with the haunting line ‘trying to make you understand.’ Lyrical Crimson Sky Bleeds Before Me is rich in colors, transporting the reader to stand beside the poet as we gaze out into the vista before us.

In The Psychic Soul Poet/Photographer Jodray has produced a delightful edition of twenty three works of written art and photos to fill both the heart and vision of the reader. Jodray comes by her poetic bent naturally. She says her mother was also a poet and Jodray has set the words filling her head down on paper since childhood. Completed with exquisite photographs taken by this accomplished artist each well crafted verse composition found in The Psychic Soul is accompanied by one of Jodray’s wonderful images taken in her present home of Alaska or from her extensive travel over the years.

Accomplished writer Jodray has produced 4 books to date, writes for a number of on line submission sites, has a new book ‘coming soon’ and can be found with her camera or pen at the ready at any given moment. To learn more about Poet/Photographer Theresa Jodray you may visit her AuthorsDen site

INTERVIEW WITH THERESA JODRAY-KOCH.~ Interview by Jacqueline Anastasia.
Introducing Theresa Jodray-Koch

~ Photographer and Author for 12 Tiny Tales, The Psychic Soul

~ Photographer for Silhouettes of Life, From the Corners of My Mind and Clouds are the Creator’s Fingerprints as well as several other books by Ruby J Black - Matters of the Heart, Memories Adrift, and Heavenly Horizons

~ Interview by Jacqueline Anastasia

SYNERGE: How old were you when you started taking photographs and how did you become interested?

THERESA: I have always loved the outdoors and could sit out in nature 24/7. I started to work as a ‘paid’ photographer when I worked as a school photographer I would stop in between schools and shoot the environment. We covered the four corner states, so I traveled a lot! I just turned 42, so I guess I have been doing photography about 2 decades.

SYNERGE: One of the best natural photographers was Ansel Adams, his photographs of Yosemite National Park are some of the most breath-taking of all photographs. Were you influenced in anyway by his natural photography?

THERESA: Not influenced by him, no. I am influenced by the Creator and the beauty in our surroundings. But I do think that Ansel captures God Grace like no other. His photography is beautiful! I also adore black and white photographs.

SYNERGE: I know you live in one of the most beautiful states (Alaska) and the wilderness if pristine, but how do you catch the flavor of each picture?

THERESA: If it touches me in some way, then I want to share the beauty in my photographs. Alaska offers such rustic beauty I carry cameras with me everywhere I go. This state is AWE-INSPIRING!

SYNERGE: Why don't you describe the countryside around your house, where you live, and your family? I'm sure the readers would love to know something about the private Teri.

THERESA: I live in the forest and can just step outside to experience the All in nature! I have three dogs Wayland, Higgins and Sammi; 1 cat, a female named Boris; 2 birds, Stinky and Slinky. Out back there are two horses, Slick and Kicker. I have a husband, Jim and two sons, Robert and James, and a stepson, Damien and have been known to have a few extra children here {Foster}. We have a moose that is here every day to eat the horses hay. We have a squirrel house out by the garden and wild rabbits that tend to hang around there.

SYNERGE: Each of your photographs has something special about them; I know you and I have talked about it at length. Do you feel comfortable letting everyone know what makes your pictures so special?

THERESA: Yes, I am comfortable with it, though I just accept it as a gift, and, as you know, my friend, I cannot really explain it. But do feel honored to be able to get a glimpse of the supernatural in my photography. I have met many talented authors as well as photographers when they have spotted a spirit in one of my photos. I think you and me have had a few discussions involving one of them a few times.

SYNERGE: You have a degree in Parapsychic Science. Would you like to tell us when your interest started?

THERESA: I have been interested in the Spirit world and the Paranormal as long as I remember. I would wake my sister up in the middle of the night and tell her about them when I was just four years old. She would get mad at me then, but now has accepted it as a gift I have just always had.

SYNERGE: You've done the photographs for various other books - why? Was there something special about that book [Clouds are the Creator’s Fingerprints]?

THERESA: Your writing touched me, Jacquie, and I felt honored to do your book, as I have with all the other people who have allowed me to put my photographs in their books. Allowing me to share the beauty on this earth has been a true blessing in my life. I would like to thank you and the other incredible authors for giving me the chance to share more photos through their books.

SYNERGE: How did you become interested in SynergEbooks as your publisher?

THERESA: Recommended by a friend {David Walters} and you {Jacquie} to check out this new up and coming publisher. I have enjoyed working with Deb; she has been a true inspiration to me.

SYNERGE: Is there anything else you'd like to tell us about yourself? Any new photographs or books in the works you'd like to share?

THERESA: I am working on some photos for Ruby Blacks books - please check out Silhouettes of Life and of course, my own books, Twelve Tiny Tales , The Psychic Soul and S.A. Warren’s book From the Corners of my Mind and of course, the incredible writings by Claywoman in Clouds are the Creators Fingerprints. You can find links to all of these at my author’s page at authorsden along with links to my photography and paranormal websites at:

SYNERGE: Thank you, Theresa, for speaking at such lengths and for allowing this interview. I know it helps all of us get to know the real Teri. I look forward to your next book and I know all who know you do the same.

Thank you, Jacquie. I am honored and touched. Also, thank you for letting me share a little bit of my life.

Hugs and Blessings my friend, Teri
