These characters all know each other and get reeled into horrifying yet intriguing situations. Jackie starts off as your average american teenager who's biggest problem is a feud with her ex-best friend. Throughout this book Jackie gets abused, humiliated, suicidal. She faces what a lot of people don't even face in their lifetime. Brad is a handsome young man that always had a steaming passion for Jackie since they were children. He lives with his mother, little sister, and abusive step-father. His goal is to get his little sister out of that home and into a healthier environment. He faces some major complications along the way. Jen starts off as your average mean girl that you see in movies and read about. She rules the school but has a dark underlying secret. Jen would murder just to make someone miserable. She has no heart but has a power over men that manages to seduce them. Throughout the book her truly psycho character comes out. This character is so powerful that it can give a person nightmares. All these characters clash together in the end.
Excerpt
She walks down the hall like a princess, everyone follows behind. The Goths and nerds look away fearing she might pull their hair or call them a name. Her name is Jen and after four years of trying to get her to be my friend I’ve given up, because around Jen you either sink or swim. In my case drown. Every time I go passed her to get to my locker, her and the girls who used to be my friends snicker and give me dirty looks. It seems everyone who tries to get close to Jen gets hurt somehow, even her past hundreds of boyfriends. But she hurt one in particular. His name was Brad he was an artist and he was my best friend. Somehow like everyone else I loved and trusted, after being crushed by Jen he wouldn’t speak to me anymore. I wonder what kind of vicious rumors she has in her head waiting to release to the rest of this school? Maybe even the world! It’s up to me to stop this it’s up to me to be the hero this time instead of waiting for her to prey on another innocent freshman. Its poison I tell you venomous poison what can make a girl as smart as her so devious?
My friend Carla and I like to call her Devil snake, one bite and the poison will go right through you
