Debut poetry from a fractured mind.

Connor's Adventures In Writing

Musing Darkly, a book of thoughts and wanderings from a mind fratured by life. Debut poet Connor Brennan bears his soul in an attempt to make sense of personal nightmares and harsh realities thrown at him. In it, the fractured mind ponders on love, life death and the authors own past in order to attain balance in the hope of understanding and rebuilding his life. Ultimately, it is a book of hope and a loveletter to all those who strive for acceptance and peace.

I want the finest from life
even if it leave me in such debt
I demand all that I see
Never thinking for one moment I cannot have it
Let me indulge
in all things to destruction
I crave for everything
Want without need
Need without care
I shall spill coins as
though they were paper kites into the air
Indulge me delight me
I have no shame I want all you can give
as a whore freely paid gives up her treasures
That delicious thing
Of lustful craving
Let me drink deep of it
Let me not think of debt tomorrow
Or death today
We are self serving creatures
And I say openly
I am what you despise
You will not admit to your own greed
Or to your own secret shameful lusts
If you will live your Janus existence
I have sinned and nothing says you are alive
The sweet shuddering release
Do so but judge me not
Know I am at least honest
And I care not for
Your rancid opinion
I speak where others cower
I have no woe of it
I want
I need
I crave
This is greed
Let me fill my glass
Again and again
Life my friends and enemies
Is for the living
And when I take leave of you
Know I dared do
the thing you did not.
And lived.
