In the 1960's the USA and the UK tested atomic bombs on the edge of space, close to the Earth. Did they disturb time, create time distortions?

Travis Grant has passed this field near Toddington many times, and several times he thought he saw many people in the field, yet they were always absent on a second look. Then one day his life changes, it all started when he saw the people in the field again. This time the were still there, even when he parked his car, climbed the fence and walked to closer to take a look. Those peole were all dressed in ancient clothing, and they seemed to ignor him, even he could not communicate with them. It had become misty and the air damp, then suddenly it cleared, and he could hear them talking to him.

As he looked around he was aware that things had changed, the road was gone, he could not see his car, and the field was huge, without hedgerows, he had no knowledge then that he had walked into a time distortion, and it had closed, he was trapped there.
