In this book, the first of eleven series presented by Love Works Entertainment, consist of touching poems and literary works that express how and why we must clearly understand that violence is closer to us than we realize. Violence has engulfed our daily lives in so many ways that it have relegated us to live uncomfortable and afraid. I, like many of you, is tired of hearing about children or love ones being the victims of violence. And it is disturbing of how today’s children have found solace in causing harm, as if possessing a gun and shooting someone would bring them the attention that they long for. Unfortunately, violence has also permeated our personal relationships, and soon as the sun brightens another day, a dark cloud emerges for many women and men who have to file personal protection orders against people that they fear. In foster care and adoptive homes, the people that the State trust to raise the children are harming and killing children. In America, there is growing epidemic where Child protective Service workers are using fraud and fictitious 'sources' to remove children and contrive the ground work for termination of parental rights. Early Departures also details the insensitivity and apathy African Americans have towards one another in their communities. In addition, America may seem more separate and unequal, however, with the growing levels of poverty, whites, Latin Americans and African Americans are in the same sad conditions.
America has devise a system for all states to take peoples children, scare them with child protective services and them terminate their parental rights. Now is the time that we tell this government that we have a right to raise our children, and get out of our homes.

PREFACE

Love, tragedy and disappointment are a part of life and living can become hard when one searches for answers of why all three imbrue their life. Every day, someone is losing a person who is dear to them, and the lost becomes heartbreaking if that person dies of an act of violence. The poems and compositions that I included in this book summarize the pain and lost I see and feel parents and love ones endure when someone they love dies before their time. Many of us have faiths and support that strengthens us in our time of need, which enables us to believe that God would welcome our dearly departed as we wait to see them again one day. However, for others, faith and spiritual explanation is not enough to explain why their love ones died so tragically. On the television the other day, I had seen the forest burning for miles in Australia, killing hundreds of people. The damage to the property was in the millions, and I am deeply concern for the individual that found courage to commit such a senseless act. I have tried to convey to the reader in poetic chapters the pain and tears of why people arrive at the point of killing, and why we must reaffirm our commitment to extirpate violent misunderstandings.  Violence permeates our lives in ways that are inexplicable and trying to make sense of why people that disagree express their discontent through violently disagreeing is almost as explaining why pain still exists in an atmosphere occupied by truelove.

Strangely enough, violence has percolated my life as well. See, as children we experience different forms of discipline in which our parents and elders used for rectification, and many of us incorporated those forms of discipline despite if they were proper or improper. I cannot tell you how many times I was discipline for doing something wrong. Although it is funny today, I can remember Grandma Lucy Mae Flood asking me, “…did you break that woman’s window out with that stone…?”, “…Why did you break into that school for…”, and “….did you steal that candy from the store…?”  My replies eventually develop into lies, and the truth came out when I was ready to be discipline with a belt instead of being on punishment in a hot bedroom on a summer day while my friends played outside. Those times are funny today, however, there are thousands of children today that are improperly discipline by their guardians and disclosure of the conditions will illumine what many decline to accept.  I have a fervent desire to divulge the horror stories of children in foster care that have been victims of politics and governmental interference.  The world community would be inviting disaster if they continue to condone insensitive acts from judges, referees and Supreme Court Justices with special interest sit idly by and decide what is best for a child. I oppose any abuse of a child; however, if the biological parents corrected their behavior through therapeutic services, then the parents should have their children returned to them.

Ambiguously, they would say, “….its what we thought was best at the time for the children….” However, unless we have more federal oversight of child protective service misjudgments, more children will die in foster and adoptive homes that are a stranger to the child. Let us not forget the fraud and fabrications the officials rely on to keep the children forever from their biological parents. The whirlwind of advocating violence to solve our problems has skyrocketed to dire consequences. The idea of this book came to me after hearing for days and months of the countless children in foster care removed from their parents and harmed in the government homes. The acts of violence against children and family could induce one to do God’s will and judge, convict and repay that shooter for that mother. Unfortunately, this is where we are drifting; killing or violently hurting someone has become a reimbursement for methods of disrespect and wrong we feel that needing collection. Sadly, the quittance the perpetrators need to collect has been at the expense of many of our love ones and friends lives. Our language has to be peace, although many would not understand us if we seek a peaceful resolution.

This morning, the headlines in the local session of the Detroit news, reads:

Man shot to death outside west-side club

“A 33-year-old man is dead after he was shot outside a private club on Detroit’s west side this morning, according to Detroit Police. The man was leaving a motorcycle club near Cloverdale and Grand River when he was shot as he got in his vehicle at 5:30 a.m. today.”

As I look further down the page, another column reads:

Violence against seniors on the rise; observers fault economy

“Senior citizens increasingly are being victimized by desperate people looking for soft targets in Michigan's hard economy.”

We have a right to seek answers and spiritual explanations to the indiscernible acts of violence that befalls people we love and respect. However, what spiritual explanation can we find that entails us why students young as first grade to middle school are bringing guns to school to solve their disagreements through murder. Each morning that our eyes are fortunate to see, someone is a victim to another’s uncontrolled aggression. The journey through this book will help you find answers if you or your love ones was that victim. You are not alone in your endeavors to find solace and understanding, because there are large audiences that have desires to help people find peaceful solutions to violent disagreements. If there is anger, frustration, sadness and forgiveness you want to express, the collection of writings in this book will exemplify that expression. Perhaps the lost of your love one has left you questioning your purpose in life or the existence of Heaven or Hell. Every question or concern you have that has been evoke from tragic or unfortunate events in your life, is familiarize in this book from people that share concerns. I understand words cannot express or ease the pain one feels for the lost of their brother, sister, or family member. I can only empathize with you through my words, to remind you that your love ones are still with us in a lovely spirit, and they took the EARLY DEPARTURE FOR THE SUN to check on us from time to time.

Excerpt

There are many unspoken languages in our communities that we express that strengthen as well as hinder the growth and hope of everyone in the community. When one live in a community for an extended amount of time, you can speak with a head signal that says, “Hello and I respect you” without uttering a word. Then we can sometime speak unkindly to one another that rouse fear and rancor that have everyone looking out for their own interest. The language we are expressing in our communities is one where we are insouciant to gun violence unless that violence has taken the life of a loved one or the local news s exploit our ignorance on television. Our silence and apathy is sending the wrong language to our neighbors and other parents. We must continue to care about our children, and we must not feel pity and resentment for all children whom parents may need help in raising. “I am bad,” is another language we are expressing to one another. I understand that disrespect is intolerable, and we were taught as a child, ‘hit someone back when they hit you’. Yes, I can still remember my mother and father telling me to fight back and stand your ground when you are at home. America, violence has always permeated our lives, from the times, we were children, until our adult status, and now that we are adults, some of us have learned new ways of advocating violence and self-defense. We have learn from watching sports that winning is everything, and losing makes us inadequate and unworthy. When it comes to losing, many of us cannot accept the embarrassment with family and friends witnessing. In our efforts to rise above our fears, we wind up finding new ways of winning. Through our anger, we retaliate with the biggest stick, the sharpest knife and the most powerful gun.
