According to a 2006 study done by the National Education Association, 50% of teachers leave the profession within five years because of poor working conditions and low salaries. Yet, according to the 2006 General Social Survey, teaching ranks among the Top 10 most gratifying jobs with 69% of teachers reporting they were very satisfied with their jobs. A low salary should not be the reason to stop molding young minds and influencing lives for the betterment of our society. Learn to:

Retire with a sizeable nest egg

Teach in a foreign country

Own all of your possessions - including your cars and house

Invest in Roth IRAs and 403bs

Establish a weekly "budget"

Live a financially secure life on a teacher's salary

Use author Danny Kofke's easy-to-use tips to equip you and your family to not only survive, but live happily within your means, multiply your funds and invest in the future.

Excerpt

I guess you could say that I have always been somewhat frugal with money. My mother likes to tell the story of when I was younger and the family would play card games together. My mom, dad, brother, and I would put pennies in the pot and play for them. She remembers how competitive I was to win these pennies so I could put them in my piggy bank.
I knew I wanted to become a teacher after having Mr. Stutzke as my civics teacher in 9th grade. He was an amazing person and educator. I know you might be thinking, “You like money and wanted to be a teacher?” Not a good mix, huh? Well, throughout college I worked various jobs making minimum wage. I lived at home most of this time so I was able to save a little money even though I only made an average of $5.00 an hour. As a college student I remember thinking, “I can’t wait to graduate so I can become a teacher and make a lot of money.” I guess when you make minimum wage, $30,000 a year sounds like a lot.
Although this book was written with teachers in mind, I believe the practices taught can benefit anyone from firefighters and policemen to CEOs and business owners. In this book, I will show you how my wife and I were able to visit ten foreign countries, pay-off a brand new car in two years, and even have one of us stay home for the first year of my daughter’s life --- all on a teacher’s salary! Do I have your attention yet? If so, let’s go and I’ll show you how it can be done.
