Early the next morning, Kris woke to see a thick blanket of snow outside the window. He rose from his bed and rubbed the sleep from his eyes. As he surveyed the yard, he thought about his encounter with the stranger the night before. He laughed it off and reminded himself that he's been working too many long hours. Kris walked over to his closet and stood undecided. Had I imagined things last night? He wasn't sure. Thinking it was all a bad dream, he swung the door open and gasped. The red suit still hung in the closet, but this time instead of only one outfit, his entire wardrobe was red. He screamed and fell backward onto the bed. He lay immobile for the longest time. Kris didn't have the strength to regain his feet. He silently reminded himself to get a grip and took a long, deep breath. He shakily stood and approached the closet.

Warily eyeing the numerous red garments, he reached out and touched the fabric. He saw a note attached to the sleeve of one coat. Carefully, he unhooked the paper and read the sloppy handwriting.

Put on the suit, already. They are all the same size. Do I need to cover your entire apartment with these clothes? Get the hint.

Your pal, Mikey.

Kris rubbed his eyes in disbelief. Who is this clown and how did he break into my apartment? Realizing there were no logical answers to these questions, he shook his head in disgust. This is totally insane. I need to go to work. I don't have time for child's games. He grabbed the same shirt and pants he wore the day before, then entered the bathroom to shower and dress. By the time he shaved the stubble from his chin and departed the steamy shower, he covered his mouth in shock. The entire bedroom was a heap of red suits. Everywhere he stepped, a plush red garment lay under foot. He walked around the red heap and entered the kitchen. To his surprise, the mounds of red suits touched the ceiling. I'm losing my mind. This isn't possible.

Finding Mrs. Claus, a short story by Shannon Rouchelle, is a charming holiday tale. Kris Kringle lives in a big city, working at a toyshop. He's a bit on the pessimistic side, and I found his characterization interesting, a good take on the original story. Right away, because of the unique approach, I didn't know quite what to expect, and that kept me reading with interest. He's just your normal guy, lonely and searching for more.

An elf, unknown to Kris, approaches him. Kris doesn't much appreciate him and is at first resistant to the message the elf delivers. A change is coming, something big in Kris's future. He¹s supposed to be Santa Claus. The way this is written, it's as if he's the original Santa Claus, and this is how it all started. Kind of like the Christmas Story, new versions coming out all the time, where we watch to see how it will unroll in a new presentation.

This presentation was cute. Kris helps a kid with something, and his strength of character comes out, making me admire him.

He meets a beautiful woman but backs away, to later try to find her. It's interesting and a bit magical what happens with that. He experiences a bit of character growth, always a good thing.

There are dashes of humor within too. For example, Kris receives a note: Put on the suit, already. They are all the same size. Do I need to cover your entire apartment with these clothes? Get the hint. Your pal, Mikey.

Little parts like that made me smile.

I might have given this story a higher rating, but it was often distant writing, telling at times; however the details given worked well to bring me into the scene, into the magical world created by the author.

This is a charming, cute story, very sweet. Young and older readers alike will probably enjoy this quick read.

Kris Kringle is not exactly a babe magnet. Actually, he isn’t a woman magnet at all. Lonely, lonesome and with a totally negative outlook and disposition, he makes nobody’s idea of Mr. Perfect or even Mr. Possible.

How then will Kris find the perfect woman, get her to fall for him and get her to agree to marry him...all in one night?

But this is Christmas, and it is a special time for the future Santa Claus. For you see, Kris Kringle is the next Santa Claus, and he needs to find Mrs. Claus right away if there’s any hope of saving Christmas for millions of children out there.

Impossible? Nothing ever is at Christmas, right?

This was one delightful little story that I devoured in one go. Ms. Rouchelle writes a cute tale of modern Christmas magic that is sure to sweep any reader off her feet.

The lonely and bitter Kris is a character that you root for, even despite his gruff manner, and to see him transformed over the course of one night, with the help of some meddling magic, of course, is very nice to follow.

As Ms. Rouchelle takes her hero through this journey to finding his heart, soul and emotion in this magical time, she manages to awaken the same feelings in her reader, and that is a beautiful achievement.

A very sweet little tale to savour with hot chocolate in hand, be it at Christmas or anytime throughout the year...FINDING MRS CLAUS is such a treat. Feelings and emotions that come right from the heart do not exist just at Christmas. They exist always, as the author shows us in this story

Finding Mrs. Claus was a wonderful Christmas story. It reminds us that our lives are not complete until we find our purpose.

I love watching Kris Kringle go from a grumpy man to a man with a purpose and someone to love him. By the end of Finding Mrs. Claus Kris understood the joys of Christmas and the meaning of love. Kris was a lonely guy that was searching for more, but it never worked out for him.

I really liked the elf, Micky, who comes to Kris and bugs him until he does what needs to be done to save Christmas. I found him a great addition to the story, especially his funny comments and his rhymes.

Finding Mrs. Claus is a fantastic holiday tale. Finding Mrs. Claus is a unique spin on an original story. This was a quick read that really puts you in the mood for Christmas. Finding Mrs. Claus is the perfect Christmas read to curl up with on a cold evening with hot chocolate in hand.
