Tommy Hop the Bunny sat in his hole one spring morning; he was feeling very sad. Tommy Hop did not feel special. Tommy Hop left his hole and went for a walk in the woods. Along the way he met some special friends who told him how special he was and expressed their care and love for him. At the end of his journey, Tommy Hop finds just how special he truly is and that yes, he is loved by everyone including you. Come join Tommy Hop on his journey and find out just how special this little bunny is and learn a lesson: Everyone is special and loved, even if they think they are not.
This little children's book was my latest work and a great deal was put into the illustrations. I wrote Tommy Hop the Bunny as a bed time story for my two year old son Joseph. Joseph spent the second year of his life in and out of surgery to correct a vision problem that could have ended in blindness in one eye. His vision was corrected by a very skilled children's eye specialist in Johnson City Tennessee. I wrote Tommy Hop the Bunny as a gift to Joseph as he recovered from surgery. The theme of Tommy Hop the Bunny tells the purpose behind the book, "Everyone is special and loved by someone, even if they think they are not." I hope and pray that Joseph can read Tommy Hop the Bunny someday and see, how truly special is to his family. I used a sad little bunny as my main character. Tommy Hop goes on a journey in search of friends, because he is so sad. Everyone Tommy Hop meets expresses their love and concern for him, because he is so special to them. This confuses Tommy Hop who thinks he is not special to anyone. In the end, the book has a twist and the reader finds out Tommy Hop's true identity. Tommy Hop meets a true friend who helps him understand why he is so special and why everyone loves him, including the reader. I can't give away the ending but I know you love Tommy Hop, Everyone does!
