Synopsis for Jim Bondy –

Friday on the Trail

The book yearns, to figure out how I acquired this obsession.  It must have started at birth.  Nothing triggered it.  It just happened.  It’s affected everything and most everyone in my life.  We journey through the years longing, hoping and expecting the answers.  We find a myriad of them.  The stories are true and deal with adventure, happiness, hard-ships and humor…even a touch of sadness.  You will laugh with us through the crazy antics.  You’ll feel the anxiety of looking down and seeing nothing but space for hundreds of feet.

These backpacking tales will beg you to spring off of the couch and embrace the open fresh air… the breathtaking scenery…the culmination of friends, siblings, sons and daughters.  Also; the hardships, the down-pouring in buckets of rain…the soreness from the cutting straps of the gargantuan backpacks, filled with only the essentials to survive.

The catastrophes and the calamities that we endure bring us together.  I don’t pull through.  You don’t pull through.  We pull through!  Besides when everything is nice and peachy and graceful and soft and good…it makes for a boring story.  The worse…the better.

Excerpt

“Oh my god… Oh crap… Oh… Oh boy… Oh boy”. Every vault to each rung was an adventure. Our hearts were racing. Our adrenalin flowing. Kim and I heard a train whistle when we were halfway across. .................................................... There had to be two hundred of these ties to land on. Every jump was as heart stopping as the last. So here’s Jeff… just jumping and talking away. Mostly jumping two at a time. Not a care in the world. Not really concentrating on where he was going to land. Sometimes looking back to us to chatter away about anything and everything, truly oblivious to the danger. We heard him talking but couldn’t find a breath

Friday on the trail by Jim Bondy
Review by BK Walker :

http://bkwalkerbooks.weebly.com

Friday on the Trail by Jim Bondy was a fascinating read! I loved the pictures, giving you a wonderful visual of the story being told.

Follow Jim and his family on a hiking adventure. Through forests, cliffs, rain and snow this adventure will make you feel like you are actually there. With added humor to keep the story alive, this is a joyful tale. What do you use when it rains and your equipment fails? Duct tape of course! What if you don't have anything to eat off of? How about a flat rock?

You will learn things you didn't know if you're not into the hiking world, how the title came to be, as well as love the story. Very insightful. I also loved the water purifier. Who knew?

Jim did a great job with this title. It was like being in a room with him while he told of his experiences. Like "Campfire Tales". I enjoyed this read and loved the pictures of the trails. Gives great perspective to difficult terrain. I give Friday on the Trail ****1/2 (4.5) Stars. ~BK Walker, Reviewer for BK Walker Books, Author of "Near Suicide" and "Dares And Dreams". http://bkwalkerbooks.weebly.com
