Jake Malone has been married once and that's enough, or so he thinks until he meets a free spirit named Carly.
Jake Malone, a successful Dallas businessman is independent, self-assertive and a loner. He's dead sure he doesn't need anyone to complete or complicate his life.
Carly Anderson falls for Jake and vows to change his mind. If she has her way, he'll chase her until she catches him. Several zany characters add to the confusion as she proceeds: a Stallone wanna-be, a "film producer" whose motto is: wine them, dine them, wed them and rob them." There's also Carly's grandmother, eighty-seven years young with her black Lab and her new toy, a shiny red Harley motorcycle.
With so much help, does Jake have a chance?
Excerpt
"Damn it, woman. No self-respecting male pays for his ex-wife's honeymoon with another man." Jake Malone's temper soared, pushed to the limits of his endurance by Rhonda's call.

Professional Reviews
Review by Jude Morris
"What The World Needs Now is a hilarious romp. Jake Malone finds himself taking care of their twelve-year-old daughter and the family's fractious Pekinese when his ex-wife heads for a honeymoon in Spain. Dog groomer Carly Anderson answers Jake's call for help and Jake finds himself caught up in a rollicking adventure that will tickle your funny bone and tug at your heart strings." Review by Jude Morris, author of Shadows are deadly and Mikki's Song, first two books in her Indian Creek, Texas mystery series.
Review by Elaine Hopper
"What The World Needs Now is a humorous, light-hearted romp through Dallas-Fort Worth fostered by a case of mistaken impressions. When loner accountant Jake Malone mistakes Carly Anderson for a dog groomer, he tries to disregard his attraction to her. But Carly's a successful entrepreneur owning and operating three related businesses: dog grooming, a dog grooming school and a dog obedience school. Unsuccessful in rectifying Jake's mistaken impression, Carly decides he should like her regardless of her profession. She waits patiently for him to discover his affection for her is more important than what she does for a living. Jake's slower than Carly can take so she takes matters into her own hands. I couldn't put the book down. Fascinating, lovable characters, (and a few love-to-hate villains) make this book a very enjoyable read. I recommend this book to while away a rainy afternoon or to take to the beach or the lake. Count me first in line to read Nancy Madison's next romantic comedy. Meanwhile, I'll be eagerly devouring her backlist."
