The Legend of The Vampire Khufu
The Legend of The Vampire Khufu

Jake lives a quiet life in a small town in New Hampshire, but at eighteen his world is shaken when his parents decided to move off to Florida.  Being a survivor life goes on for him, then one day he meets an old man that claims to be a wizard cast out from his own world by another evil wizard called Abanay.  Attempting to help, Jake suddenly finds him self sucked through a portal (The Gateway) into a world of Wizards, Castles and Kings, where truly an evil Wizard is attempting to take over the Kingdom of Scrimore.

When he attempts to aid the good King and his family, Jake and the Princess are captured by the evil Wizard, only to be sent through the Gateway to an even more primitive world where a fierce Dragon keeps the inhabitants more or less captive to devour them at its leisure.

Here, with the aid of one of the inhabitants, Jake attempts to slay the Dragon and fails, however for his attempt he and the Princess are to be offered up to the Dragon to appease him.  Suddenly Oberin the Wizard comes to their aid and together they slay the Dragon and free the people.  However when they return back through the Gateway they find the evil Wizard has led the Groats, a half human race, down from the mountains to siege Scrimore.  Once again Jake helps by constructing Hang Gliders so pouches of Black Powder and Percussion Caps, which he and Oberin returned to Jakes world for, can be dropped among the skittish Groats to break up the siege and scatter them back to the mountains.  Becoming a hero to the people of Scrimore Jake marries the Princess Dara then takes her through the Gateway to his own world to meet his parents, and on to who knows what other adventures.
