Veronica has a strong sense of certainty. But events turn against her. So, are these events truly ones that destroy life or rebuilds it? Veronica finds no escape but accepts life as it comes.

Veronica grew up with a strong sense of certainty.  She has family who shielded her from any evil that might harm her. Her strong foundation enabled her to be the bedrock other people depend on and that her home became the refuge people go to in times of their needs. She is the pillar of succor and rest. But events turn against her. The maladies invade her life and that now, she is the one who needs saving. But are these events truly ones that destroys or ones that rebuilds it?  "Pretty and Nowhere to Go" is an essay on life. It is a story that finds no escape for Veronica, for in this world it is not fighting those we cannot win but accepting what life hands down.

Ysabelle walks to Grandma Veronica and tugs at her skirt. "Why do you dress so nicely?"

"I'm to see your uncle".

"But it's just uncle. I would dress up if I went to a party with my friends, especially a birthday party...or to church. But does uncle tells you to dress so nicely when you see him?"

"No, darling". Grandma Veronica picks Ysabelle up and seats Ysabelle on her lap.

"Parties and churches are special places to go to. You dress up to go to these places. But you're going to visit Uncle. That is not a special place."

Laurense teases,"Grandma dresses up pretty and yet she has nowhere to go."
