Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Camp Comox started its first full summer of operation. The Commanding Officer of the camp was LCdr Derek Tye, RCN. He was the Area Cadet Officer for Sea Cadets in British Columbia. At the time he probably did not realize this was going to be his summer job for the next eight years.
