Rendezvous Magazine
I finished your book last week and it was more than good reading it was
an experience. I loved the characters. You used all the elements of
good plotting and super conflict. It took me on an emotional high. Your
book could become an addiction. I read anywhere from ten to thirteen
books a month and I'm placing your's among the best.
Hope to read a new one soon. Some day expect to see your names on the
New York best sellers list.

Paige Turner, super model for the Big and Beautiful Agency, is on vacation and plans to spend it in the home of her childhood relaxing and remembering the good times spent there with her parents. However, Fate has other plans in store for her and when she returns from dinner after just opening this turn of the century home, all she can do is stare in shock as she watches this beautiful homestead burn to the ground. The memory that floods back is not a happy one of her mother and father, but one from her evil step-mother when she called her a weak, undisciplined, oversized black moose-a cruel memory and one that only added to her despair. All alone and surrounded by grief, she nearly fainted when a pair of strong arms encircled her waist to hold her up. As she looks into dark, compassionate eyes she feels safe, and she falls against this chest. This is how Fate stepped in and introduced Paige Turner to Lincoln Cross and now their love story unravels.
You will experience many emotions as you read FROM THE ASHES as the authors touch your senses. Evil will do its best to plant doubt in the hearts of Paige and Linc in this adventuresome story of suspense. No woman should have to go through the upheaval and terror this heroine endures. She is drugged nearly to the point of death, has unexplained 'accidents' that send her to the hospital, and believes her closest friend and the man she loves have betrayed her. Lincoln Cross is determined this woman with the golden eyes is the one he saw in a vision and his Native American grandfather confirms it. There is no way he is letting her go and he will fight whatever gets in his way to make her his.
FROM THE ASHES is a story about a large woman of color and a half-breed man who have beaten the odds. The have 'risen from the ashes' to become successful, compassionate, loving human beings who accept themselves and others surrounding them. Kathleen Suzanne and Jeanne Sumerix deliver a story that will have readers quickly turning the pages to uncover the twists and turns of this multi-cultural suspenseful adventure.

I enjoyed every minute of FROM THE ASHES! It was a great blend of mystery and romance, with a sound sense of historical place. Northern Michigan is so dear to my people's heart. It was gratifying to feel in the story that the authors also appreciate and love our "Turtle Island" too.
I admired the respect that was shown our people by the careful research done by Jeanne and Kathleen. They spent many hours learning about our traditions and culture. They felt their readers deserved the best.
The result is a novel that's an interesting blend of what is ages old; this land. . .our ones; mixed with the entirely new-millennium heroines. I truly liked them. I felt sad when the last page was read and these nice people ended.
But, we don't have a word for goodbye in Chippewa, so maybe Paige and Mara will be back. After all, Linc will have to have a naming ceremony for his new bride.
