A delightful, often humorous, contemporary love story that will warm the hearts of all true romantics. Qiana Patterson, a 30-something African-American pediatric nurse who, convinced that her biological clock is ticking, attempts to remedy her barren plight by artificial insemination, thinking that this will simplify her life's choices. She then sets her directional to cutting the fat in other places too...the main one is to end her 'going nowhere' relationship with Rufus Mayduful, alias Russell Thompson, her wannabee-rasti-boyfriend of three years. Tired of his lies and cheating and fake Jamaican accent she gets out of that mess only to find herself in another one. Turning the World Upside Down is a multi-cultural romance that crosses the color lines in a slightly predicable yet fun-loving light story, written to please all who love simply for the sake of loving! Follow Rashawn, Rita, Terrell, Nigel and Qiana as they all learn about love and friendship in this story of a mishap that turns the life of these people...who thought they had it all together... upside down. The ending is sure to satisfy all true romantics.

Watch that next step
"For Loves Sake," takes you on a delightful walk along a garden path. You come across pretty flowers, (you expected that,) some weeds, (you expected that too.) You think that you know exactly where you're going and that just around the corner sits a pretty house with a white picket fence. You turn the corner and Whoa! There's no pretty house with a picket fence, you've just stepped off a side of a cliff! As the reader you may do what I did and re-read the passage over. Did I read that right? The twist in this novel is so unexpected, that I literally re-read a certain part about 3 times to verify. Quite a good read. I enjoyed the characters. They were all three dimensional and very interesting. It had me at one point longing to make friends with some of them and be invited to a super bowl party!
Love can be fun and so can life
A warmly written story of how a young African-American woman decides the time has come for her to do something with her life and that is going to include getting rid of a waste-of-space boyfriend and getting herself a baby but without the trauma of being in love. What could be more simple? However life has more in store for Qiana than providing her with a baby to nurture and so begins a love story with a difference as Qiana finds out that life is more than just test tubes, fragile friendships and broken dreams... A good book to tuck in your back pocket for those lazy days in the park.
Michelle McGriff is a grand author
I read "For Loves Sake" and fell in love with it. It's charachters are real, with real situations facing them, handled in a realistic and insightful way. It took me awhile to warm up to Nigel, but once I did, that was it. I was hooked. Michelle McGriff has a way of capturing her audience.
