Professional Reviews

Pacific Rim College, Victoria, BC
'Finally a comprehensive book that lays out exactly how TCM diet therapy works without any complex formulas. I LOVE that these books deal with modern day foods so that the student can take this information straight into the clinic. The charts are incredibly helpful for the busy clinic as one can reference from them quickly. The book is also beautiful to read, well-sectioned, and easy to use. I certainly wish that we studied a book like this when we were in college. Thank you for creating such a practical and useful TCM Dietary Therapy book! We cannot wait for the recipes installment!'

LAOM -
'As a licensed Traditional Chinese Medical (TCM) practitioner, it is refreshing to come across great books that really make sense. I will call this a useful manual that lays out Chinese Medicine food therapy quite well. It is simple and thorough - not anything like what is available for Acupuncturists or the general population. To say that it makes sense for both populations is a big feat! The format and layout is very easy to maneuver and it's what I call, "Western-friendly". What I mean is that it readily advises use of foods widely available here in the US or North America. Most Chinese food therapy or recipe books contain foods that are difficult to get here, but not in it's native China/Asia. Basically, I've looked through numerous books on this topic and think I've found the best one for something, but it often doesn't come out perfectly. I can say this has.'

It is a joy to recommend Lei Russell’s “Cooking With the Five Elements!”

Feng Shui is a philosophy, which has been around for thousands of years. Lei Russell, who studied for nearly forty years to become a master of this art, now presents a book, which aids in bringing balance order and harmony to all aspects of the human being. The understanding presented in Ms. Russell’s new book, “Cooking With the Five Elements”, benefits all physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects. Learn TCM Diet theory and how the five elements – water, wood, earth, fire and metal -correspond to symptoms and their cures. The food therapies found in this book help dispel emotions such as depression and grief as well as improving your sense of well-being. Common everyday foods are shown to be healing to whatever ails you. From the common cold to kidney stones, it’s all there. The mystery and the magic of this common sense approach to what might otherwise prove inscrutable will prove invaluable to the sincere Truth seeker. Self diagnosis and application of the recommendations in the book often result in a craving of foodstuffs previously not even considered in one’s everyday diet. Open a new window to vibrant health in your life by rushing to give this invaluable cookbook a place on your kitchen bookshelf!
