A Meeting in the Air is set in the fictional town of Ridgemont, in the western part of Michigan's upper peninsula. The novel depicts the interpersonal relationships of the staff of a small Christian radio station; its owner; the town matriarch; and several others as they encounter and respond to real life situations. The two lead characters, David Post and Trish Ivey set out to get the radio station staffed and on the air while trying to deal with their own personal challenges and Christian growth.
God's handiwork is readily visible in believable everyday situations as David and Trish meet, start their work together, and fall quickly in love in a way that neither of them would have ever guessed.
David and Trish face challenges to life's goals and dreams. They force themselves to leave their personal comfort zones. The two are thrust into life's surprises where they question their recent decisions and many of the past's choices. Yet all the while they strive to develop and nurture a hungry faith. All culminates in many rapid-fire situations that perplex the heart and challenge the soul. Answered prayers and how to look for those answers is vividly portrayed with some emotional twists and squirms that compel the reader from one chapter to the next.
